    WWII confirmed??

Electronic Arts will fully reveal DICE’s next entry in the Battlefield series with Battlefield V this Wednesday, but we got some info on its setting from a new teaser trailer.

Looks like it. I do not hate it one bit, I tend to love the historical wars more so, but I'd like to see the franchise alternate between a historical setting, then modern, and repeat. I would love to see that approach and some new wars we haven't seen as much, but I would imagine fighting as Bosnia might not bring as much hype as fighting as the traditional powers does.

I also hope that this game is more of what 1942 was and less of what 1 was. I prefer the older games' pacing and gameplay, but I guess in the modern age it's all about puck up and play-ability and being action packed.

Im not a fan of the war stories either, just feels too boxed in. I don't hate them but i'd rather have a traditional campaign.

I did see some people speculating it could be an alternate history type deal. Makes some sense because why would they upstage their own reveal by releasing the main thing everyone wanted to know 2 days early. Seems like something sneaky may be going on....... or maybe that's what they want us to think.

Really hoping the teaser is a bait and switch. With no campaign in cod. Was pulling for something modern. Not sure I can do another year of ww2.

I hope this battle Royale crap doesn't ruin it and everyone flocks to it. If so this will be my last BF I don't want that battle Royale crap. First day cop for me regardless.

I'm starting to miss modern war shooters. I definitely understand the reasons for going back in time on the current generation of consoles, but BF3 and BF4 were my favorites. It makes me wonder if they are gradually advancing back toward the modern age (BF6 is Vietnam, BF7 is back to contemporary). I wouldn't mind seeing a game set during the Gulf War conflict, though. I'm not sure if that's ever been done.

I didn't play BF1 nearly as much as I thought I might. After a couple longer sessions I was largely done with the game. I like the WWII setting better, but BF1 took a lot of liberties with its era, so it became sort of a hybrid. I just worry BF5 might play too close to its predecessor.

Agreed with canes21 that perhaps alternating between time periods would be preferable.

Game looks and sounds interesting enough. I like that there is no more premium pass, but with all the added cosmetic and customization options leaves open the door for crates. After playing COD WWII for a fair bit of time I don't want to see any crates or Battlefront 2 style unlocks again.

Not sure how I feel about that trailer....kinda underwhelming BUT I do like hearing about the new operations type. It also looks like they added secret weapons from the old battlefield 1942 expansion. I wonder if they will have jetpacks.....

Finally we can customize our soldiers. I hope it's faction specific...I'm so glad that they went WW2!

                          Here's the trailer
                          <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/uGxjJZgP9pU" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

From the trailer it looks like you can throw back grenades at the enemy. You can help break the kill animation and I think you have music in that bren carrier/bike?

Best part was no more premium pass and the maps are available to all.

It sounds good so far but I will wait until EA Play before making any judgement on the game.

I was pumped, but I walked away unimpressed.

*I dislike the fortification idea personally. The battlefield and buildings changing during combat is a huge part of the gameplay. If you can just repair buildings the game kind of loses some of the flare or uniqueness of each round.

*No BR mentioned for me is pretty big, considering it's 99% of what I currently play, and I want a really polished/optimized fun BR from either of the big two (DICE or Treyarch). So I'm holding out hope BLOPS4 can provide it!

*The trailer was a let down and what's with the goofy prosthetic?

*No premium pass is a big step in right direction!

*Battlefield V will have to beat out Call of Duty Black Ops 4, that's where I'm currently planning to spend my money.

This is ridiculous. One of the best things about BF was that you could DESTROY buildings from people camping in them now they are encouraging it ?
