    Re: Battlefield V

Only way I found to spot is spotting scope as a sniper. R1 seems to mark a general area now.

    Edit:love the sniper.

Some of the fortifications are pointless imo.

For example, within a certain flag zone, there are a bunch of houses. They let you fortify the houses inside the zone but not the actual perimeter around the flags zone.

That was a bug in the first alpha it’s fixed in the beta. The only way to spot is with the Recon spotting gadget

Ok I'm having some fun with the PS4 beta but there are things are really bothersome. The bloom lighting really hurts the game visually as things are so bright it's making it hard to see enemies in the distance. Plus it is so dark in buildings you walk past enemies that are crouched in a corner. Also hate starting with low ammo as it just makes it frustrating always having to run back to an ammo depot. I don't mind fortifications but it's not really needed so I can take it or leave it at this point. I know it's WWII but it doesn't really give me that vibe when playing. Framerate needs to better optimized as well especially when there's alot going on. It's a beta so hopefully they rectify some of these issues. Will I buy the full game? At the moment I'm on the fence as I can see the potential but things will need to be addressed for me to take the plunge.

Right now I'm not too impressed with the game so far. Only played 3 games but not feeling the excitement I have playing BF1. Graphics look like they took a step back imo. This could just be because it's a demo.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Really hate the bloomed out lighting. It just makes it an eyesore.

                Re: Battlefield V

There are some things they really didn't need to change.

The HUD is square and you have to turn all the way around to N,S,E,W, etc. That's a big deal for me because several of the people in the clan I'm in are really good about calling out direction too.

You can no longer hit down on the D pad to change fire mode on weapons either. I know there's some in depth button mapping and customization, but it's just some stuff they didn't necessarily need to mess with.

The game is tough to adjust to coming from BF1 where you could jack up field of view and see a lot of things in the distance. It's really hard to see people in this game for me. I haven't messed with fortifications really, but overall the base conquest experience is about the same as usual.

I like that Snipers don't get kills handed to them nearly as easily. It's super easy to snipe in BF1 and that needed to change. The tanks handle like ****ing trash.

My ping is over 130 on US West Coast servers, which is really high in comparison to my latency in BF1 West Coast servers.

Most of my gripes are minor and are related to it being a beta, but the game has potential. I'm buying it either way, but in a party of 8 on from our clan, there is an unusually high amount of complaining going on. Everyone's beta experience is pretty mediocre lol. Again, it's just a beta.

Same for me, they would need to make some drastic changes for me to consider buying it.

I want SQUAD but brought back just a little towards the BF side. It would be fantastic, especially during the WW2 era. Give me BF 2, BF 2142, Bad Company, even the last tolerable one BF 3, but don't give me another quick spawn die, spawn die, COD style. I want some strategy on a larger map with decent realism, but highlights on awesome gun play. As of now, the BF series has drifted big time towards the 10,000 things on screen, blinging and going, instant gratification style. Some won't mind it, but for me it distracts from the immersion of a good war game.

I finally got to try it out yesterday and while it was enjoyable I do agree with a lot of the things you guys mentioned. It does seem like they changed some things that they did not need to. Enemies are definitely hard to spot on the maps and with spotting gone, this is something that they need to address. With Red Dead coming out I may wait and just get it at a later time.

this might be the first battlefield game that I don't buy since i started playing.

                        And I even bought Hardline.

I made up my mind that I wasn't buying this game after I didn't even play Battlefield 1 after a month. I haven't really enjoyed the series since BF3.

I want another Bad Company game.

I played some of the beta and liked it overall but my biggest concern is that most of the game isn't even available at launch, and we're looking at early-2019 for a new content drop at best. I think their artistic direction in the game was flawed from the beginning and nothing about the game feels WW2.

After Star Wars Battlefront 2 I'm skeptical of EA releasing new content for a game that may not sell as well as anticipated.

I think the game will be ok , but I don't see it being good enough to get me away from battlefield 4. I play Battlefield 1 every now and then but 4 is where it's at if you ask me, just way more going on and a lot more fun. I was really hoping the next Battlefield game would be modern day warfare instead of this rehashed WWl WWll crap. I'll pick this up a year from now for $6.00 Maybe.
