Would of easily been 50 if not for this internet outage I've been hit with in the last few days. Our internet box got hit with lightning and have been out of commission since Saturday.. Having to come to my grandmother's house just to use the internet..

First time I've been able to log on since Friday, but I've only tried logging on a few times each day.
Really hoping they get the majority of the log-in issues resolved. I'm a giant fan of FF with 6 being my favorite.

SE is giving everyone a free week extension to compensate for the log in issues.

Uber, how do you like scholar? I'm having a tough time choosing that or white mage as my main.

Yeah, game came down at 5PM PDT today for their big maintenance (planned to go til 3AM PDT).

I already have my 50 on Excalibur... If they open character creation, I'll roll on over to Sarg - especially if you guys have an FC that is/will raid. I got the leveling part of this game pretty down pat for right now.

Buick... I love Scholar. There are times when it sucks (I refuse to go to Aurum Vale dungeon until I level another class fully. 2 of the 3 bosses there decimate pets right away, so SMN/SCH are horrendous to go there with) but aside from that I love it.

I was able to get on this morning and make a character on Sarg. The name is Aedan Jellal, shoot me a friend request when you guys get on.

I think i got 12 lancer, 7 archer right now. Leveling my second job seems easier or i just got the hang of the game a bit better.

What is the dotted outline on an attack after placing an attack? Is that just how to combo? And is it a timed thing? I cant find the tutorial in the menu and think i may have skipped the text early on.

Also, is archer the wrong class to splice with lancer?

The dotted line is the combo, yes. It's a timed thing (but you get more than enough time to hit that move next.)

Also, when leveling a combat class under your highest level (so for me, I have a 50 ACN... everything under 50 that I level) gets a 50% bonus to exp gained through kills.

30 Lancer/15 Marauder is what you need to unlock the Dragoon job quest.

Here's what I've done.

Take your first class, only worry about that one until level 30. If you're enjoying Lancer, stick with that. Do your main story quests (it'll take you through dungeons, which you'll have to wait 30-40 minutes for the duty finder queue... the pains of playing a DPS class) and when it takes you to an area do all the side quests around there (ie: When you go to camp drybone for the main story quest, do all the level-appropriate quests in Camp Drybone). Just doing that there shouldn't be too many times where you'll find yourself out of stuff to do and stuck on a level before you can move on.

Once you hit 30 on your main class (all the while doing the class quests at 5/10/15/20/25/30/etc) switch to the other class needed for your job (Marauder is found at Limsa Lomasa in the Coral Tower in the upper part of the city) and level that to 15.

Grinded like a mfer this wkend feel like i got nowhere. 19lnc(about 900xp away from 20), 15 archer, 15 maurader. Just finished the 3 dungeons. Having a blast tho.

Im 23 now, very limited playtime. A lot of running around on my current quest, hoping after it someone gets a ! over their head and says 'wouldn't all of that have been easier if you had a ride?'

Love the Magitek mount I've seen people on, hope to get one of those eventually.

Edit: ah, reading that you get it when finishing the story. Also I've only done the 3 dungeons, haven't done the primal fight or done any grand company stuff. I have a ways to go then?
