They are all over the area here, most with big smoke stacks coming out from behind the cab. Makes absolutely no sense to me. Plus, why would you want something so large you need a ladder to get in and out of? Too much work if you ask me. I'd rather not risk pulling something lol

I feel like there is a story connected to this somehow.

Unfortunately this is more common in shopping nowadays. Grabbing people's attention by mentioning sales, but in reality, it's nothing so special. But people fall for it all the time.

One I hate are when stores mark up a product before dropping price. So something costing $40 becomes $50, then marked on sale for 25% off! You think that's a deal, but really, it's like $3 off the actual price. Even less special when you can find that same thing at $35 at a different store not on sale, but people fall for sales.

I like being a "smart shopper". I know when and where to get things at best prices without falling for any of these ridiculous marketing ploys or just being foolish in buying something that you can very easily get elsewhere at better price without going out of your way. Even something as simple as grocery shopping, my bill is probably half of others I know, despite buying the same thing. Different chains got different prices, and getting to see flyers for upcoming week before previous week is done, you know if it's worth waiting on getting something.

If I ever win the lottery, I definitely won't be one of those people who'll blow it. Spending wisely is part of how you have more money in the future.

What I hate is semi-trucks on the freeway doing like 70+. Like, that is so damn dangerous. It's one thing for someone driving a hatchback to do 70-75, but big rigs speeding is like death waiting to happen.

But in general i am on team big rig. People drive like idiots around them. See it every day. Following like 5 feet behind them, or cutting them off to make an exit. Those people, along with motorcycles splitting between cars, deserve to wipe out.

Agreed, it does go both ways. But what i hate even worse about big rigs, is when i am driving the Speed Limit (or 5 mph over - i hate paying tickets anymore), and they get right up behind me and start riding MY tail (even in the right hand lane), driving 5 feet behind me it seems.

Some of them think they own the road. That reallllly grinds my gears. I have used several methods to deal with this, but my wife doesn't seem to approve of any of them for some reason... So i try to just let it go as much as i can now, but not making any definitive promises either.

Well, anyone doing 10 miles over the speed limit in the slow/exit lane is driving like a bitch (myself included), regardless. Lol.

Lol true, but, keep in mind the speed limit here is 75. Im driving 80, i am in the slow lane because everyone else wants to do 90, and i drive like one haha, and 18-wheeler is riding my tail. I am about to ruin his day lol.

How about when it's a two lane freeway and one big rig decides he wants to pass another big rig, which takes forever to do, and now they are clogging both lanes and backing up traffic like a mother. That **** grinds the **** out of my gears.

This does grind the living dog-sh* out of my gears for sure.

                          Off-topic diversion:
When I was a kid, we were road-tripping with the family to visit some out-of-state relatives, and on one of the major interstates - which is 2-lanes for hundreds of miles - two huge semi trucks decided to stage some sort of a protest or disruption (which I later learned was the result of some kind of a labor-management dispute or something like that). The way they decided to do this was to take up each lane with their huge semis+trailers and drive about 20-30 miles/hour for about 50-60 miles, thus snarling traffic for miles and inconveniencing hundreds of regular motorists for at least an hour+ who were just trying to go about their days, and who had literally nothing whatsoever to do with whatever labor unrest was at the root of it.

Anyway, aside from the normal questions one might have about this kind of thing (What was this about? What did they hope to accomplish? Why did they think this would be effective? Where the hell were the cops?), the one that I still have to this day is who was behind it? Because whoever it was basically bred a legion of anti-labor sentiment for life in a lot of people that otherwise might have been willing to stay impartial...

Getting a Jury summons. I get the importance of it, but that fact still doesn't make me just giddy to report to duty.

oh man, I love jury duty. I lose out on a weeks worth of overtime but I can make it by just fine. I can get caught up on a lot of reading I put off. I've been called in about 5 times in the last 20 years. I got called in a couple times before that but I was naive and my boss at that time told me he could get me out of it if I left it to him so I did (I work in the power line industry). By the time I got to my next boss, I got called in twice in 3 years. My boss was like, ''wth?" lol
I actually did get picked to serve on an attempted murder charge the first time I went, but I learned real quick how to answer lawyer questions so they wont want me. I'm ready for another paid 'vacation', I dont know why I havent been called in the last 6 or 7 years. but I can definitely see how its not for everyone.
