I was looking at a PC-adapter for my old XBox 360 controllers (because what good are they now?) and it was still like $40-50 bucks. I mean, seriously - is there really market for these things? There can't be more than a handful of people looking to seriously buy one at this point. Although, if price is truth (as Wall St people say), maybe I'm wrong and a lot of people want them.

And they refer to front-of-the-house vs back-of-the-house jobs as "on-stage" or "back-stage", or something like that. I'm getting a headache from the eyerolls...

You also have to consider that these things in all likelihood are no longer being produced and are thus becoming rarer and harder to find as the ones that were made are lost in various ways which will drive up the price.

Touche. Although, when you see the same one on sale for months on end, one wonders whether the sellers are holding out beyond the life of the interest. Speaking just from my own perspective, at this point it's just easier/cheaper/better to get a XBox One controller which automatically works w/ PC's, especially once the new XBox comes out.

I'm emailing a company about an item I have which broke recently.

Me: I bought this item online last summer. It just suddenly stopped working.

Them: Sorry to hear that. Good news, we have a 1 year warranty and can replace it for you!

I check the order date of when I first got the item....it's literally 1 year and like 5 or so days. So this item went exactly after the warranty expired.

I go to a local mom-&-pop restaurantand order a large drink: ‘‘We only have Regular, Small and Extra-Small.’’ whatever, just gimme your largest drink, the regular. which turns out to be really rather large. or another local, I order a small drink, ‘‘We only have Regular, Large and Extra-Large.’’

standards people, standards. if you only have 3 sizes, you have regular, small and large.
I went to Jack's (not a mom-&-pop's by any stretch) yesterday and order a large chocolate shake, like I have ordered for years. woman tells me they dont have a large, which I know very well they do. they're $4.06. have been for quite a while. I almost told her gimme 3 smalls, I'll make my own large. last summer I ordered (or attempted to) a large shake. effing new guy says they dont have a large. again, whatever, gimme a regular shake. go to the first drive-thru window and pay. go to the second window to get my order. ‘‘Sorry sir, our shake machine is out of order.’’ FML

Funny thing, after I posted this they replied back and didnt care about the fact that I ordered it over a year ago, they sent a replacement.

(This is my thread now lol)

Got a call today from my ISP about confirming that a technician will be coming over tomorrow to fix some stuff. Only problem, I never scheduled anything.

I had to call and spend over 10 minutes (after another 10 on hold) calling them to cancel this.

Their explanation for why someone was coming over...because of an issue I messaged them about...last month, which they already sent someone to fix that following day. So they decided a month later to send someone over to fix something, claiming nobody ever came beforehand, and were still insisting the problem was in my house (when the guy who fixed it last month admitted it wasn't my house, it was the problem was their own main line in my neighborhood).

                    Basically like..
Them: We need to send someone to fix your phone.

                    Me: They did...last month.

Them: Our records dont show that. The problem has to be within your house.

Me: If they didn't fix it AND say the problem was on your end...how am I talking to you right now from my phone?

                    Them: Um....

Just because it’s your opinion, doesn’t mean it’s not wrong.

There are certain things in life where you know it’s wrong and not everything in life needs a “Well actually...”.

Sad that this needs to be said in 2020 but here we are.
