Plus it saves quite a bit of money in the long run. Deli meat can be very expensive if you eat alot of sandwiches. We also do it quite often with chicken and turkey. The slow cooker is your best friend.

I did that a couple of weeks ago. Got 3 chicken breasts and put in some bbq sauce and then shredded it up. I was thinking I could also do that but instead of bbq sauce use chicken broth.

And some broccoli.

Jerry: Hold it, Newman, you wouldn't eat broccoli if it was deep fried in
chocolate sauce.
Newman: I love broccoli, its good for you.
Jerry: Really? Then maybe you'd like to have a piece?
[Jerry opens container. Newman takes a piece]
Newman: Gladly.
[Newman spits it out]
Newman: Vile weed!

Hey one question if you don't mind. How many calories are you eating per day? I'm eating 1,600 per day, and sometimes less. I've lost 13 pounds in 3 weeks, but I want to lose more. I'm weighing 199 right now.My main problem is that I get extremely hungry at night, and I don't want to eat because it's late, and water isn't cutting it. That's my struggle right now.

How many calories he's eating wont help you. Find your mbr. Someone posted a good calculator for mbr a page or two back.

Are you tracking your food in a log or are you just guessing your eating around 1600 calories? If your just guessing, start a log, see what your really eating per day.

Find your MBR. What's in the calories helps, too. If you are finding yourself hungry maybe eat more filling food that has less calories for dinner. I'm on weight watchers and I usually have at least 2 servings of vegetables for dinner which are usually 0-1 point. (This equates to 40-80 calories with good amounts of fiber)

So as I said yesterday I'm back on the wagon myself. I was going strong for a while but fell off. I hadn't stepped foot into the gym in 6 weeks.

In that time I figured I put about 10# back and was sitting around 235. BUT, I started back to the gym yesterday and wieghed in at 224!

So I'm still not far off my 200 goal. Going back today and the weekend then my weekly gym schedule will be Tue, Thur, Sat, Sun.
Off days Mon, Wed, Fri.

I just wished they opened earlier casue I'd much rather go before work. The problem is I only get about 20 minutes in.

Re: Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

If I get into losing weight, I can't go half way, otherwise I'll feel like I'm not doing all I can do. So usually I eat:

two bowls of cereal (250 calories each)

Protein Bar + Protein Shake (400 calories)

Chicken Breast and Egg whites (I think somewhere around 300 calories)

Sugar free popsicles around 8 a day (120 calories)

Usually drink water and Crystal Light (15 calories)

So thats about 1350 calories in a day. That combined with cardio and weight training I don't usually feel hrungry and if I do at night I have a low calorie (90 calories) granola bar.

Doing this I can lose about 1 pound a day.

I know a lot of you guys don't have that kind of discipline, but even making small strides can help a lot. You could probably add another 400 calories or so and still lose half a pound in a day.

Oops

I had a long weekend of lots of beers and cookouts and it finally caught up to me. I weighed in at 325 this morning up from 323.6 last week. I'm going to have to buckle down but I got an invite to a buffet later. Doh!

I've been on the elliptical for the past two days, burning a good amount. I'm going to try to mainly start working on those, because they kick my *** the most, and that's what I want.

I've got to stop drinking sugary drinks though. I had two Cokes at lunch, a Coke after lunch, and a root beer with friends (and yes, that is a root beer, not a regular beer).

I also have been eating out a lot recently, and I've got to stop that, both for my belt and my wallet.

237.8 today. I'm trying to get down as much as possible by September 24th, which is the day before I leave for Australia. My goal is 210. I figure I'd look pretty damn good in a bathing suit at 210 (at least, compared to now).

UNC_Pete - same here, i gained 5 pounds over the past 2 1/2 weeks but i've managed to lose 3 of it this week through diligence and weight lifting. Since my devastating toe injury (my big toenail came off) i've been grounded from cardio so i've been doing weights. Eating at the mongolian grill tonight, chicken & vegetables!!

Nice job GIG, yeah I've found that not eating out as much is much cheaper and works better for my weight.

So yesterday I weighed in at 218 right out of the shower. I've almost lost a total of 30 pounds since January. My ultimate goal is 200. But as it is now I'm lighter then I've been in almost 10 years!
