Would love to, but I just quit two or three days ago. It did keep my weight down forreal though. Anytime I was hungry, i would smoke a Newport. That wasn't why I did it, mainly because I was lazy and a cig was easier than making something. That being said, I would not recommend it unless you are losing weight for purely aesthetic reasons. Doctor told me that smoking is equally unhealthy to being a full 100lbs overweight.

As for diet they have you eating so much that I feel like I am eating constantly, and often eating is a chore to knock out the requirements (protein and veggies specifically). It is low carbs and the workouts, even only doing what I can, are high intensity. I am completely sore right now and have the Shoulders and Arms workout, as well as the ab ripper x. Each of the aforementioned areas are entirely sore. So we will see how it goes. The previous two workouts (Chest and Back, Plyometrics) were unbelievably intense so hopefully this is a bit of a break, but I doubt it.

And could you guys let me know how the green supplement is? Right now for a lot of my vegetable servings I am downing cups of low sodium V8, and it is horrid lol.
Keep at it mate, the first 2 weeks is the hardest. The soreness will decrease and you'll start feeling better than you have in years. Just gotta stick it out!

OD it is hard with a new partner. You don't want to insult her by always suggesting you need to eat at healthy places etc but you also don't want to let your hard work slip. Making homemade pizza is awesome and it always tastes better and is way healthier than the store bought version so sounds like a good idea. Don't be afraid to enjoy life though and have the odd treat, just work harder in the gym and be more strict with the diet when you aren't with her is all i can suggest.

Re: Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

I was at 290 pounds two years ago.

I am 6'6" so I carried the weight decent but I knew I was overweight.

I work in a prison. I am an officer at a state prison and have to deal with some pretty bad dudes. When I started, I made a decision to get in shape.

I'm still not there, but I am now down to 245 pounds. I am starting to lift weights and I want to put on about 15 pounds of muscle. I've always been pretty strong and athletic and I want to get there again. Looking intimidating in my line of work is a definite plus as well.

The biggest thing with my weight loss was cutting out the junk food and the late night eating. Working until 10 PM and then coming home and eating big meals was killing me. I pack a healthy and filling lunch and come home and usually eat a healthy snack. I am sitting at about 1,800 calories a day and it's working good for me. I am still young so I knew I had to grab my health by the horns now so I didn't have to deal with the negative effects later.

I love to play sports with my buddies. That is where most of my exercise comes from... We play baseball in the summer, hoops in the spring and winter and football in the fall. It keeps me feeling young.

I'll keep you all posted and good luck to everyone. This is a great thread and very motivational and inspiring!

210 today...might creep under 210 for the first time in over a year.

~45 days until my two week summer vacation to MI & Costa Rica where I will be on the lake or on the beach almost 24/7 haha.

I hope my Greens Plus come today. I'll fill in those who don't like their veggies with my thoughts.

I always eat my veggies with my thoughts. Heh, sorry, that's just how i read that and thought it was funny. Like a ham sandwich with a side order of melancholy.

Yeah, I didn't make it out to find them, but some sort of veggie substitute would be good...I know I don't eat enough veggies, but i wonder if that stuff tastes like *** lol

I'm sorry to hear that about your mother. My dad quit after my grandfather died from lung cancer. While my main reasons are financial, I am certainly thinking about my present and future health.

Re: Weight Loss - Tips & Daily Check-in

BigFoot I am right here with you. I started p90x on Monday and made it through the first 4 workouts. Well, acutally I only made it through 30 mins of Yoga. I have some bone and joint issues that make it impossible for me to move like they are. I'm not gonna give up on it, but I am going to talk to a Yoga instructor and see what modifications she might suggest. Anyway, I just did the Cardio X workout instead of yoga.

I was really sore last night, so I decided I would take today off (I may workout tonight since I feel pretty good right now) to let my body rest and recover a little. Then I'll either use this as my recovery day or just make my first week 8 days instead. As long as I am following the diet, I don't see a huge problem with taking a day off here or there.

Also, I hate veggies, so I have been drinking V8 Fusion Light, to help get my veggie needs. It tastes more like fruit than veggies, so I can handle it. Hope that helps a little. I would caution you about weighing everyday. I don't think they suggest it and it seems like it would be better to do about once a week if you are really concerned about the weight loss. I probably won't weigh myself at all.

Yea it's not that big of a deal with the weighing each day.

The standard is ~1lb/week of fat loss. That's at a 500 cal deficit each day. You can then find out what 2 lbs/week is...

Hydration level is a huge part in your weight plus if you're holding onto excess carbs at the moment. I know I can swing 3-5 lbs easy. I always weigh myself in the morning after my shower...just to see what it says.

The mirror test holds more weight for me!

It'd be fun I think and we could eat healthier than eating pizza out. Plus much more economical too. I think that's my biggest idea so far about all of this is cooking some healthy meals together, would help her and me both in learning how to cook better meals, have some fun, eat less calories and not cost as much as eating out all the time.
Just be up front with your girl and tell her you are in the process of a lifestyle change to eat healthy in hopes of losing some LBS. Tell her you don't care what she eats but you do care what you eat. That way she will know that you would prefer eat at places that have healthy options if going out to eat is going to become more then a once/twice a week thing.

As for me, I don't go out to eat very often (I don't count Subway as going out to eat) because I don't have the will power to make healthy menu choices. My will power allows me choose to stay home and that is the extent of it. My wife, however, is the complete opposite. She is able to eat out as much as she wants and always makes the healthy menu choice unless it is her cheat night.

Exactly. I have a body fat scale and I check it once a week (Friday morning after waking and using the restroom). It may not be completely accurate buy I know if my BF% is going down, I am doing the right things.

Weighing in everyday is definitely not good for the mind when trying to lose weight because weight does fluctuate.

My dog has problem with his pancreas that prevents him from absorbing nutrients with the addition of an enzyme to his food. Periodically, I weigh him at home to make sure he is not losing weight. I do this by weighing myself first then I pick him up and weigh us. One Saturday night I did this after drinking beers... I then hit the head for a leak and re-weighed myself afterward just to see I much I pissed. I literally lost 5 lbs.

It's gross, not gonna lie. However, I do believe it's a very good supplement. Go research it.

I just chugged the 8 oz of water with it and got it over with!
