      10 pounds in a week... That's insane.

It also doesn't sound very healthy or realistic unless a colonic was involved on some way.

Personally I feel like the first week is easily the most productive week, if you maintain your discipline. Most people will just say "well it was mostly water weight" and for all I know it may be true, but it's still a good start.

It is a good start when just looking at the bottom line, but 10 pounds in a week screams "starvation." I'm sorry, but that's just what I think. To go from say, 220 to 210 in one calendar week just doesn't make sense, and that's not jealously talking, either. It's just one of those things that makes a person say "WTF."

Well, to be honest that's pretty much the same thing I think. I just want to wish everyone trying to lose weight on here good luck, 10 lbs in a week is awesome. It can be skeptical because it would be impossible to keep that pace, but still if you can get 1-2 pounds a week down it's excellent especially if you can start with 10 down in week 1.

This weekend wasn't kind to me. Too many feasts. Parents anniversary, Superbowl. My wife made her famous dried cherry, coconut, double fudge cookie bars.........

Time to get back at it.

Same here man. I actually never went over my calorie limit, but I did have a box of Reese's Pieces at the theater Saturday night, and about 9 cinnamon breadsticks for the Super Bowl last night. Like I said, atleast I never went over 2300 calories, as I ate really low calorie stuff leading up to both nights, knowing I was gonna have some rather unhealthy food.

Getting right back at it today.

                      Re: OS Weight Loss 2011

I just finished arguably the most difficult workout i've ever done. This is the actual workout, which i'd never be able to finish:

                      25 v-ups
                      50 snatches
                      25 push-ups
                      50 swings
                      50 burpees
                      50 clean and press
                      50 mountain climbers

The goal is to finish these in as little time as possible, aka no rest. This is my modified version:

                      20 v-ups
                      20 snatches
                      20 pushups
                      25 swings
                      30 burpees
                      20 clean and press
                      50 mountain climbers

I never would have been able to finish all of the above workout without dying, so I knocked some of the exercises down. I did it all with very little rest in between. I thought I was going to die doing the burpees, but somehow got through them. The most difficult part was going right to clean and presses right after the burpees, as my arms were absolutely dead. Oh, and the snatches and clean and press were that many on each arm.

Twenty minutes later, my heart is still racing.

Very nice! My goal weight is right around what you're weighing in at now.

Well, you're taller than I am so I need to drop about 30 more.

                              Just now noticed this thread..

                              On November 25th (Thanksgiving), I weight 217lbs.

                              Currently, I'm around 179lbs. Essentially 38lbs in 75 days.

Basically cut out all soft drinks (still drink beer occasionally), cut out fast food completely for 8 weeks, ate plenty of protein and fruit and a bit of exercise, but nothing to crazy.

                              Honestly, never felt better.

This past Thanksgiving is what got me on my diet in the first place. I saw family that hadn't seen me in years and I felt awful. I knew they took notice how much weight I had gained.

Once you get to that point Giggas where you've lost the weight and people take notice, it's a GREAT feeling.
