    Re: Quirky things you do...

I don't do the "tap", I reach in my pocket and see if I forgot anything. Probably shouldn't do that in public, though if I ever realize that I'm doing that in public and someone might be looking, I'll pull out my keys as if I meant to be reaching in my pocket to pull out the keys.

Though no matter what, I'll always have that "did I forget something" feeling, even if I'm literally waiting to go somewhere and have all the time beforehand to get stuff.

That's why I sometimes do the "if I go with nothing, will I be fine" game. If answer is no, I'll work my way backwards from there and make sure I got whatever I need before leaving.

The TV volume and thermostat must always be on even numbers for me.

You put your volume up to 60+?

I double knock on walls in hallways and doorways. Walking and knock knock, quick low hip tap tap. I do it outside too. It is very strange, my late father used to do it all the time and I always noticed but never did it.

Now, I do it. Makes my wife crazy! So, I continue

Haha! I meant to say I keep them on even numbers, not that I keep them even.

I'm typically a guy who has to have the volume on my tv on a 5. 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 etc. If that's not workable, an even number is a must.

In my car, the volume must be an even number with the exception of 13. 13 is ok. (Jason Voorhees reference)

I like my iPhone volume at 8 which is exactly halfway to max volume. Lol

I dont know why but I can deal with criticism better than praise.
I can just ignore criticism but high praise is awkward.
Inside, I'm like ''what do you want from me?''. I cant distinguish if thats a genuine heartfelt compliment and condescension. I dont know if its quirky or not but there it is.

I'm sort of the same. I deflect praise and I'm horrible at receiving gifts. Whether it is the greatest gift I've ever gotten or not, I feel like I'm putting on an obvious, awkward, fake display of excitement.

Maybe with the praise, I don't like someone thinking that I need their approval? Maybe it's just a bit embarrassing? I don't know.

Criticism? If it's just, fine, thank you. If not, go **** yourself. Much easier.

Right before I go into a store I always take my wallet out and check to make sure I have some cash on me. Even though I already know that I do because I just checked at home before I left there also.

Same here. High praise, especially in front of other people, makes me uncomfortable. Even if I know it's coming, I can't stand it. I just always feel like whatever it is, I'm not deserving of it...like it was a fluke or something way too simple and I'll get found out.

At least with criticism, it feels deserved most of the time. Or at least like I can take it and improve somehow.

Ha, similar. I get about a block or two away from the local coffee shop and I have to start getting my 2.25 out then. I can't do it in the drivethrough line. I have to have it done by the time I pull in.

Thermostat has to be 68. Or 72. There are absolutely no other acceptable numbers. None.

                                I'm the exact same way.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
