Started a new workout (blast for mass training) and way of eating (Carbbackloading) about 3 weeks ago. Put on 7 pounds of muscle and moved in a notch on my belt.

You didn't put 7lbs of muscle on in 3 weeks.

          You're welcome!

Gaining 7lbs of muscle in that time frame isn't possible on even the best steroids/training/diet regiment known to man. It didn't happen.

I need to drop 10-15 pounds. My new job, while great, doesn't afford me much in the way of exercise time, especially with 2.5 hours of commuting each day. I run/bike/lift on weekends but it's really hard to make time during the week. We are in the process of moving, so hopefully when that commute is eliminated, the weight will come off.
Honestly, I just kept it simple. 2000ish calorie diet (a little more or less hasn't killed me), with a mixture of high intensity circuit workouts (bodyweight/kettlebell and cardio) and lower intensity endurance workouts. I've also done a lot of hill related workouts, like running steep hill sprints with a weighed vest on. That's more related directly to training for the Spartan Race. More specifically, Monday and Thursday I do the high intensity bodyweight and kettlebell circuit workouts. Tuesday and Friday, I do long distance runs with some obstacle related workouts for the race (like hills, monkey bars at the local park, etc.). Saturday, I usually just do some bodyweight work (pushups, pullups), and sometimes an easy run around the neighborhood.

Another big one has been drinking a LOT of water and cutting back on beer. I really only drink on the weekends now, and it's usually at most a pint from the local brewery down the street.

I wish there was a secret to what I was doing, as i'd share it in a heartbeat. I think it's more or less just a combination of hard work and doing what I can to stick to a cleaner, healthier diet.

So this summer I've been working out for an hour everyday. I have now lost about 8 pounds in 4 weeks. Overall since late February 16 pounds and since November 23 pounds. I look better but more importantly I feel a whole lot better. What workouts do you guys recommend to lose that stomach fat, most of the weight I lost has been in the legs-thighs/upper body.

Don't know why, but I've discovered I have my best workouts by far when I workout at night. Hard for me to do it during most of the year since I wake up/go to bed early, but since I'm off for the summer I've been working out at night whenever I can and its been awesome.

Same. When our nice gym was in the same building as us there was a group of 3-5 of us that would go workout at like 1 or 2 am because we didn't have to wait for machines, didn't have to deal with a crowd and could just switch off spotting.

Lost about 35 LBS from Dec-May and gave up drinking for 100 days during that time period. Twisted my bad ankle late may and put back on 10 lbs. My total weight loss goal is 50 which will bring me down to 190 lbs (I'm 6 ft)
That will put me just near the max weight to go back into the Army and finish out my career that I really miss!

Grats dude, 35 lbs in that time period is a pretty significant difference; and for some people giving up Alcohol is just too big of a sacrifice. There are people at my work that can't go 2 days without drinking.

Anyways need some help guys, I know seeking a sports therapist is probably the best for this but just incase there's someone that's experienced this before would like to get some opinions. So basically my Wrist that I sprained a couple months back has healed. (thankfully) and I've come back to lifting... been doing great especially on Chest, Leg days no problems. I've been wrapping my wrists with wrist straps that I bought just to be safe.

My problem comes on Arm days when I do Curls, so yesterday I was doing Curls, nothing crazy just a pair of 25's on an easy curl bar, doing 21's. As I was doing my workout my Right Forearm on the outside was just hurting, like a dull aching pain. So I stopped doing curls on the bars, and I went to Dumbbells and after doing a few sets of hammer curls the area between the Knuckles of my Pinky, and Ring finger (Right hand) were just ACHING really bad, like my grip was weakening and I had trouble holding onto the weight with that hand.. So I just stopped there.

Afterwards my Right pinky, and ring fingers were just wanting to curl inwards like they were in the gripping action, took my until late today to get them stretched out comfortably. My wrist was wrapped and it's doing fine, and the pain in my forearm has faded but my last 2 fingers on that right side are still still sore. I got no pain in my left arm, hand whatsoever.

I have an idea of what's going on but not completely sure. I think my right arm is weaker and as a result of maybe a muscular imbalance the tendons in my right hand get tired from holding the weight sooner. So because of this my Grip strength weakens and my body tries to compensate by gripping the weight tighter, and it's causing the weaker ligaments in the hand (pinky, ring side) to strain pretty badly the longer I hold onto the weight, and that if I didn't have my wrist wrapped that pressure would transfer onto my wrists. Which is probably how I injured it 2 months ago) I'm hoping I just got tendonitis in my hand and I can rest it off, regardless I probably have to give up any kind of Curling, Rowing movements where I have to grip a weight in that position.

Am I off base here? If so this sucks because my arms are my weak point as of right now and not being able to do Curls would be a big blow to what I can do to build up my Biceps.

For you guys that do more intense workouts. How many grams of carbs do you take in a day? I'm wondering if I could be getting more results out of my workouts, as by my calculations, I'm getting somewhere around 150g of carbs a day. Calorie wise, I'm usually around 2000.

I've thought about adding a serving of brown rice to my lunches (grilled chicken and broccoli with Cholula hot sauce) to get some good carbs into me. I've also thought about replacing one of my snacks (almonds probably) with a peanut butter sandwich on whole wheat bread.

Would I benefit energy wise during my workouts by adding these extra carbs throughout the day?

I'd say go see a dr. They'll probably prescribe an antiflam/muscle relaxant if its tendentious or give a better diagnosis. If you don't have a regular dr you go to, find one, and start (if you have health insurance). Digging through bad drs to find a good one is worth it.

If you don't have health insurance, I had tendonitis in my right tricep a few months ago. I was prescribed naproxin (aleve/antiflam) and a muscle relaxant (forget the name). Took two 250mg tablets of the naproxin (morning/night) and one of the muscle relaxant for two weeks. Iced it every night and stretched/rolled it. No lifting at all for those two weeks. Was right as rain after the meds finished. Now i rehab once a week, and still stretch/roll it just about every night. I will say my strength was waaaay down until about a month ago. Mostly mental as I didn't trust that I was ready to start loading up again.

Should I just skip working out for a month? I started fasting yesterday and don't get to break my fast until about 8:30. My gym closes at 10, anyway, and I was thinking of doing light work outs at home, but not even sure.

I would say if you're going to fast then don't do any heavy lifting or major cardio as you won't be able to provide yourself proper nutrition pre-workout and recovery post workout. You will lack the energy to get a proper beneficial workout.

I'd stick to light cardio and home workouts to keep yourself in shape but no longer than 45 minutes.
