    Re: 2013 FITNESS CHALLENGE

I struggled for a while when I cut the pre workout junk.

There are some instances where I spend all day outside working, remodeling things for work and then drive 45 minutes home/to the gym and then hit the gym. It becomes real tiresome, somtimes.

It's not bad usually, but right now we're remodeling outside at work and everyone is required to help.

glad that can help ya get going.

my inspiration throughout was my son, obviously.. but when i struggled, my two buds that helped me get going got me back on track motivation wise. i would send them texts every day after my works outs etc. saying Day 12, done etc. then i would ask them what day they were on? LOL.

Keep up the good work Fiddy!

So I'm on day 22 of being booze free. I feel like my mind has been lifted from a 24/7 fog that always made me feel a step behind everyone else.

Down to about 205-210, started on Thxsgiving at 243. Sunday will mark the end of week 3 on P90X Lean.

Really really physically tough week for me. I'm a handyman at a business park and me and my boss started working outside on building his restaurant again. 100% humidity b4 sunrise here in Gainesville, FL . Been starting my workouts at 4:30 AM so I can be at work by 7. Luckily I have an awesome boss.

Goin do a fitness test for the Army on the 12th . Already have 7 years in, never thought I would miss it haha.

Man, my quads are sore. Had a killer workout yesterday.

Completed 4 sets of max rep pullups and pushups. After that, ran a 5k, and at the end of each mile, I did a set of 20 burpees, 20 air squats, 20 lunges, and 30 crunches.

Gotta work those quads though for the Spartan Race. Pretty sure the course goes up and down Killington Mountain atleast twice.

April 9th i started my own personal 90 day challenge. i wanted to be healthier, for me, but most importantly for my 5 year old son and my family! i started off a 263, biggest i have ever been.

no p90x, insanity, etc for me. i knew if i went that route which one of my two friends that helped me get started wanted me to do, i wouldn't see it through, i knew id be side tracked at home etc.

so, i got 14 free days at anytime fitness, then a membership, and i was off.

6 days a week. 3 days of light weight lifting and cardio, 3 days of just cardio!

Mon - Tri's/Chest plus 40 min of Cardio
Tue - 60 min of Cardio
Wed - Shoulders/Legs plus 40 min of Cardio
Thurs - 60 min of Cardio
Fri - Bi's/Back plus 40 min of Cardio
Sat - 60 min of Cardio
Sun - Rest and Relax LOL

after each workout i would drink ON Protein Vanilla Ice Cream.

(lifting days were 8 exercises light weight, 4 for each body part, 4 sets of 10-12 reps for each one)

first week was rough, not as in hard to do but just getting my mind right and in a routine.

i had zero problems cutting out junk food, as i only ate it at night bc of being bored or just out of habit. i had zero problems cutting out pop, bc well i didnt drink it anyway, i just drank Gatorade. LOL

breakfast - oatmeal, used water to mix, and a banana
lunch - bowl of special k cereal or a special k protein bar 150 cal
dinner - baked chicken, fish, or ground turkey meat
snacks (2 a day) - special k 90 cal bar, celery, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli etc

i also mixed in for dinner or lunch turkey/chicken salads. no dressing! i always pound a bottle of water prior to eating as well.

CHEAT DINNER, no not a cheat day like most of my friends used LOL. one cheat dinner a week and i used it on Saturday nights. this was just a meal, no appetizers, no pop/gatorade etc! i would eat whatever meal i wanted at a restaurant. (no fast food for cheat meal)

yes, i had late night cravings, what i did to fill that void.. drink a bottle of water and eat one or two celery sticks!

the results of sticking with the above, staying in my routine, and not missing a workout.

              April 9th - July 20th

              Started at 263
              Finished at 208

              55lbs lost!

if i can do it, any of you guys can do it. no gimmicks, no nothing, just good ole eating healthy and exercise. imagine that LOL.

i since started a new 90 day challenge on July 22nd, today was my 10th workout, im down to 205! my goal is to be tone 190 by November 2nd.

again if i can do it, anybody can!
If this doesn't inspire people, not sure what will.

Random question: Has anyone ever tried The Rack, and if so, is it a load of bull**** like I kind of assume it is?

I've got to get back on the weight-loss train.

I started the year around 219-220 and got down to 200 in March or so. Then I went on that 4 day juice fast and got down to 196 (although I knew I would gain most of that back). At the beginning of April I went on a cruise and it's been a downhill from there. Once I got back I went back to my old eating habits (fast food 3-4 times a week, cereal or cookies at night, etc.). Plus I haven't been playing basketball because the gym is always too packed during the summer. Now I'm back up to 210-211. The kid's should be back in school soon so I'm going to start getting back on the court and of course stop eating junk. I'm hoping to knock off these 10 pounds that I've gained before football season.

I've lost a large amount of weight over about 18 months. It's been about 6 months since. The problem is I have a lot of extra skin, mostly in the stomach/torso region. I've been roughly the same weight since January. I've noticed some improvement but it definitely still looks pretty terrible.

Is there anything I can do to help speed it along? I've been going to the gym for about 3 months and it's helping but I'd like to know if there's anything else I can be doing.

You can try cocoa butter (palmers)..but chances are, it'll require plastic surgery unless you're blessed with good skin genes.
