Have you ever wanted to coach or play basketball at the next level, but something prevented you from achieving that dream? Fret no more. Ask me about SimWorld Hoops to see how you can create your virtual self, and follow your path from the prep-level to the pros.

I'd say being put under is definitely a scam if there are no unusual circumstances. It only took about 5 minutes once I was numb for them to get them out. I actually still have them...Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
When I had my wisdom teeth pulled I elected to be put under. Apparently I told my mom, under the influence of drugs, mind you, that I hated her for making me get my wisdom teeth pulled... she was mad at me for the next three days.MLB: Minnesota Twins

Re: Uncommon Opinions
When I had my wisdom teeth pulled, I was around 18.
Got a shot of demarol, don't remember a thing but evidently I had said they could remove whatever they wanted LOL. Painless process, fast recovery. Ate runny eggs for a day or two. The first recovery day/day of is always the worst, especially after the good stuff wears off.
As to the sports question, probably golf. Maybe a PF or center in the NBA.GO 'HAWKS!

Hell, if it didn't last for so long after you leave the office, I would do it every time, even for just regular cleanings. I do dislike the scraping they do with the metal instruments when they're doing the cleaning, lol.University of Minnesota Golden Gopher Hockey

Re: Uncommon Opinions
Another thing I remember when I got put under for my wisdom teeth, is that they put the IV in me, reclined me back, and told me to count to 10.
I made it to like 4 and I was gone. Just out.
When I had to fill in a few a while ago, I got local anesthetics and did not regret it. Prior to that, I had one filled without enough to make me loopy and I just hated it. The drill bothered the hell out of me.Twitter: @TyroneisMaximus

None of those compare to the pain I was in for 4-5 days after I got all my wisdom teeth out at the same time. Granted, I was in tenth grade at the time (and vicodin has no effect on me, which I didn't know then)... But man I'd never even think about doing that without being under. The night after my second shoulder surgery probably comes close to the pain from my teeth but the teeth still top it.Last edited by ubernoob; 07-24-2013, 07:17 AM.badComment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
But local vs. putting you has nothing to do with the pain for the next 4-5 days. You wouldn't have felt it during the process, period, whether you have local or gas, anesthesia, etc. If you did, you stop them! Just like in any procedure. It's not "Ok, this will help just a bit, and if it doesn't, well sorry!"
I have only had one filling in my life and I didn't even get local then. Took all of 5-10 minutes to drill it and fill it.Comment

Re: Uncommon Opinions
My surgery went great, I was out for an hour and a half, and I'm playing NCAA 14 this afternoon. My surgery was at 845ish eastern. #dedicationComment
