I also like to go into the comments if it's heavily disliked to see what it is that isn't liked, so I know what to take into it.

All this being said, there is a Chrome extension that brings the bar back. This is awesome, but there are still two inherent concerns:

    1) I wonder how often people will dislike now in general, and if I'll be informed on what it is I'm actually looking for based on the like/dislike ratio.

    2) I'm guessing this is leading toward YouTube ultimately ditching the dislike button altogether someday.
DIY videos are tough now. It might have 200 likes, but you won't see the 2000 dislikes.

I don't use YouTube enough to get an extension for it, but no dislike does impact using it.

I just don't buy their reasoning for it. It's a drastic solution to a very small problem that 95% of people didn't even know existed.

In reality I think they did it because they thought it made the platform look bad that people were massively downvoting nearly every mainstream news video on certain topics, and it also prevents the embarrassment of trailers for movies/shows from studios that they have huge financial dealings with being loudly rejected and ridiculed. They just made a deal with Disney in August, iirc. I'm sure it was a long time coming tho.

Has anyone ever gone through a drive thru that doesn't tell your payment total until you reach the window? I realize the majority of drive thrus have a screen that tell you the total, but I obviously mean for those that don't.

There is a Mexican restaurant near my school that I go to once a week, and at first I thought I was just ordering from an incompetent employee the two or three times that he was on the other end. He would just say: "Okay, come to the window."

The next time, I had a woman who said: "Okay, come to the window for your total." The fact that it was somebody new and they mentioned "for your total" led me to believe that this is the informed practice at this particular restaurant.

I was thinking of why this could be, and I do know that they charge an extra $0.50 for payment by debit card. I don't know if that is a charge that they have to pay or if that is just them charging us, but if so I can see why they don't want you to fumble around for near exact change if they can make a little more money with every order.

Would this be a reason why? Regardless, have you ever witnessed this practice for yourself?

I have, I think they just forget or don't care enough to read the total. These would be at recognizable places like Wendy's, BK whatever. I just check the receipt since I know what I should be paying (especially at Wendy's ).

But I could see how at an independent establishment you might get suspicious. In that case I might go inside once to check the menu/prices and see what's what.

Or I guess they have the prices at the drive-thru menu. I'm thinking about this Chinese restaurant I went to a couple of weeks ago precisely because they have a drive-thru and I don't remember if they had the prices besides the offerings, but when they charged me at the window it sounded about right (less than $10) so I was fine with it.

Well to clarify, I haven't only gone there three or four times... this happened a couple of months ago, and I go every week. I've gone there like fifteen times total. Every employee there does the same thing in the drive thru. Never been told my total cost. Ever.

It's at a place called El Forastero. There are only ten locations, all in the much greater Sacramento region. I've gone to another one before but I went inside when I did.

Anyway, I didn't mean to have anyone infer that prices aren't on the drive thru menu. I just meant that if I'm ordering several items, that my total (plus tax) isn't mentioned until I arrive at the window, and they literally tell me to come to the window as the first response after I complete my order.

They've also screwed up my order the last two times, but that's neither here nor there (except if they confirmed my order to me or had a screen, that would be a different story). I'm sure I could request that they tell me how much it is or ask to repeat the order to me, but those are just more acceptable and standardized practices throughout the fast food industry.

I've never eaten at Little Ceasars, but one time I was going to and ended up not doing so for this very reason. Not sure if it was a location specific problem or what.

I went in, saw the menu, they had no prices next to any pizza, and I'm not sure they did customized pizzas. When asking the person how much different pizzas cost, they were basically like "order one and I'll tell you how much it costs"

I have some local places like this and I always feel like an ******* asking how much certain things are. I can afford it, but it's a big difference between what I'll pay for certain things.

                    That's the point.

Being able to afford something vs willing to pay are 2 different things.

Can I afford a sub? Yes. Am I willing to pay basically the price of a whole pizza or a burger combo for it? No.

Same for lots of other things. I never see a pizza by itself being worth paying over $20 for a single one. Especially since the "deal" prices at most places are basically around for most of the year.

Around here you get a Cash discount or they phrase it as fee for credit cards that probably what it is.

Going to Little Caesars is like going into one of those liquor stores with bars on the door. I'm not expecting customer service or a smile. Just put it in a brown paper bag and move on with your life. And hopefully you don't witness someone being stabbed.

They dont have them in as many areas by me, so back then this was the new chain in the neighborhood.

Ah okay that makes sense. Little Caesars has been slumming it up here since I was a kid in the 90's and I guess I took that for granted lol.

Shout out to them for making little kid's birthday parties easier and more affordable though.

                                Speaking of pizza...

I had Papa Johns the other week and could only eat one slice, it was absolutely terrible. I'm not sure if I don't remember it being that bad or it's derived into a some weird combination of spaghetti sauce pizza but either way...it'll be a long time before I eat it again.
