I do the same. But you still get those people who will still wait and make you do the guessing game.

4 way stops where you get there first or second, but something happens which makes you unable to go first or second are even worse.

Like me and someone else get to stop signs from opposite sides of the intersection, they get there first, so they go and turn left (so I cant drive straight until they finish their turn). But in the meantime, other cars from the other 2 directions get there. And while that first car was turning, others decide to go now too. So I should've been able to pull off once that car made their turn, except now I'm waiting for 2 other cars who act like they had right of way start going as well.

However, since it's not a four way stop, curious about right of way for two cars both trying to turn the same direction onto the highway (one turning right, the other turning left).

Is right of way dedicated to which of the two cars pull up to the highway first or the car who is turning right.

There is no real reason I'm asking other than it's something I come across occasionally. In my scenario, the left hand turn is across both lanes of highway traffic whereas the car turning right only has to wait for one direction to be clear.

Either way, for some reason, even if I'm waiting well before the car coming up gets there to turn right, I feel he has the right of way due to turning right (against my left hand turn).
If there are more than 2 lanes they're turning on to, right of way shouldn't matter. I'm assuming that's the case since you said it's a major highway.

Each car would turn into the lane closest to them, so they can both go at the same time.

Well, I don't know what my computer is doing, but since yesterday afternoon it keeps randomly producing a blue screen of death and restarting with the error Unexpected_kernel_mode_trap. What's even stranger is that almost every time it has done it I've been on the main page of espn.com. Once I was on twitter and once I just had my antivirus/system mechanic open doing a scan.

As far as I know they are. I did just download a number of optional driver updates from Windows Update a little while ago though.

Maybe check the memory. That's a common cause for blue screens. Or see if anything weird is showing up in the device manager. Or might be a recently installed program acting up

It would be nice if everyone adhered to turning into the correct lane.

I actually did a memory diagnostic last night which was apparently clean. Don't see anything weird in device mamager either. I actually did find a thread on the Microsoft community forums started by someone else having the same blue screen when visiting espn.com issue, but the thread seems to have been locked w/o any clear resolution to the issue being identified.

Discussing the stop sign topic, the vehicle on the right always has right-of-way or goes first, at least in insurance cases I’ve seen through. Dealing with insurance agents is a delight of life I truly enjoy, right next to dealing with lawyers/attorneys, which I’ve compared to getting a colonoscopy. At least I get a good, legal high and can’t remember anything with the colonoscopy. Ho-hum.

If two vehicles arrive at a four-way at the same time, here’s one scenario... Vehicle 1 is facing north at the stop sign with a vehicle (Vehicle 2) to its right and none to its left, while the second vehicle, Vehicle 2, is facing west and has a vehicle (Vehicle 1) to its left but none to its right. Therefore, in this scenario, Vehicle 2 would have the right-of-way.

Far too often, people slow-brake or tap-brake through stop signs. I normally just eye them if I’m on-duty unless we’re in a zone where children frequently are playing, then we’ll have a chat and I’ll give them a written warning because I don’t want the chore of having to go to court. Laziness or being polite? You decide and I’ll agree.

When trying to google my question I did come across the car to the right scenario but that only seemed to apply to four way stops which isn’t the situation I find myself in at this intersection.
