This time last year my wife and I were flying for our annual anniversary trip. Our covid concern was enough that we wiped down our area on the airplane and then went about our business... Never even concidered or cared about the airborne aspect of it. A bit has changed in the last year...

Re: Off-Topic
I have this problem with birds, they don't get stuck, but they try to build nests in the side vents of my AC unit, they end up blocking the air flow and causing the compressor to overheat, basically ruining the AC
I'm on my 4th AC unit since living here. I finally figured out a way to swat them away from inside with a fly swatter.
But lizards? yikes, I'm afraid to ask what the mess looks likeWolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

Thankfully no birds, just tons of lizards in the yard here in South Florida. Remember hearing something about them being an invasive species. Also hear them randomly try to latch onto the windows and fall off with a thudComment

Re: Off-Topic
Text etiquette question
a month ago my therapist texted me that she was leaving the practice and the office would message me about rescheduling with a new therapist, she added that she enjoyed our monthly talks
I figured it was just a generic response she sent to all her clients. The only reason we text is because of Covid protocols. I have to message her when I get to the parking lot and then she comes out and we do the "mask up" thing and she tests my head with with temp measurement gun, etc.
But anyway, I didn't reply, didn't think I was supposed to. Then today I was trying to click something on my phone and hit the text function instead, and her old message loaded up. It was weird, I don't understand why her month old text popped up, and I noticed I somehow missed the rest of her text.
Our last session was the day after having to put my dog down, and the entire session was basically about the events leading up to him being put down. The end of her text that I missed was "I hope you're dealing well with the loss of your pup"
Idunno how I missed that part before, should I have responded originally? I figured her departure text was just a standard message, but now I feel bad for not realizing there was a personal comment, and maybe the enjoyment of monthly talks was personal, tooWolverines Wings Same Old Lions Tigers Pistons Erika ChristensenComment

You don't train to be a therapist if you don't care about people. I'm sure there was a personal connection but I doubt your therapist was offended by you not responding.

Re: Off-Topic
Therapy is an intimate relationship, but I wouldn't take it as romantic. I'm sure your therapist texted all of her clients and had a personal message for them.

Reads like somewhat generic well-wishes to me, with personal tidbit because the therapist would obviously have that in mind as they part ways. There wouldn’t have been anything wrong with replying, but it’s also not a message that demanded one. It sits well on its own.Comment

Re: Off-Topic
I think it's friendly and that she cares about your well-being, not just in it for the money. I'd respond saying you didn't notice her personal comment until now and a quick note with how you're doing with it.

Re: Off-Topic
Crazy/scary moment earlier today. Hopefully not bad timing giving the topic above.
I was driving down a side street (below the speed limit) when out of nowhere a dog ran into my car!
It's a 1 way street, and cars park on the right hand side, so I was driving, passed a big truck parked on the right side, and from infront of the truck jumped a dog.
Thankfully it hit the side of my car, I was going a slow speed, and the dog got up after a second and just ran off like it was nothing, but that was scary.
I slowed down and looked behind to make sure the dog was fine, but it was gone. I checked the cam on my car and I could see the dog just run away after. Turns out the owner was down their driveway (a good 30 feet away) and they were gone as soon as the dog got back to them.
I'm thinking they fled because they thought maybe the dog caused damage to the car (which it didn't), but I was concerned about the dog. I was going slow and the dog got up and ran away right after (and hit the side of the car, almost T bone style) so I'm guessing everything is all good.Last edited by Majingir; 03-10-2021, 05:14 PM.Comment
