Political/religious/sexual discussion was banned a long time ago. It doesn't belong at OS, and never has.

Should a poster be banned from OS - losing access to Sports discussion, rosters, sliders, etc. (all the things the site is for) - because they can't debate politics or race with any class or respect? Why not let OS be for sports gaming fans - where we can discuss sports and gaming - and save the invective for elsewhere?

The example I cited was Hurricane Katrina, and I don't know what that has to do with politics, religion, and sex.

If only all the people posting in that thread thought the same. Instead we got race, politics, and religion.

As far as only banning from EE ... there are some things said that can't be ignored and brushed away.

I would suggest that at a site "Dedicated To Sports Gaming", that would be expected.

However, at a site "Dedicated To Sports Gaming" the main traffic of EE ( "How Do I Get A Girl To Touch Me Down There" and "What Do I Do If A Girl Touches Me Down There") would be unexpected.

I have never seen such posts.

Very well said. I guess the problem is the younger group of posters is expecting something from OS, that OS isn't nor was it ever intended to be.

I liked hearing about peoples personal life on here, as it was interesting and made these boards feel more like a community. I'll miss the EE forum, but theres a good group of people running the show here. Therefore I respect their decision as they have done it because they think it will benefit the boards.

It was orginally meant to be a catch all for small talk that wasn't sports or sports game related. It then went far beyond small talk.

Because there used to be a very different community here.

OS has grown and changed over the years, and EE no longer "works" as it once did.

Ahh that's wack. I always thought the "Off-topic" forum was a must for all message boards
