Re: *The FIFA 16 Manager Mode Thread*

I had begun a Barça one, where I used that catalogue item that lets you manage your country that you choose your manager to be from; I had chosen Brazil and the damn game crashed so I'll be starting over.

In that one I had bought Pogba and Courtouis but in this new one I think I'll just be building up the youth system and imposing a transfer ban of 5-10 years. I'll be able to sell but not buy anyone, just used the few youth players they've added from Barça B and the YA that I'll build.

For season 1 I'll be recalling Halilovic from his loan since I'm thin at the forward positions, I don't count on Sandro or Munir.

    Team Starting XI and backups:

GK: Ter Stegen, even with his whiffs I prefer him over Bravo, in the game only ha.
GK 2: Bravo, will be starting the Champions games + Copa del Rey.
GK 3: Masip, will be loaned out or sold.

    RB: Dani Alves
RB 2: Sergi Roberto, his real life play has made him a serious threat to start in FIFA 16.
RB 3: Aleix Vidal, didn't like this signing IRL. Hate it now that Sergi Roberto has played well at RB. Might see some time at RW.
RB 4: Adriano, plays LB but will be used in case the top 2 are MIA. Also might be sold.
RB 5: Douglas, will be loaning or selling him. Hated that signing, hated.

CB's: Pique and Mascherano, their job to lose.
CB 3: Vermaelen, real life play has got him into that serious CB 2 convo.
CB 4: Bartra, has been bad at times. Like real bad, video game life pushing for that #2 & #3 spot.
CB 5: Bagnack, most likely leaving on a 2 year loan deal.
CB 6: Mathieu, dead to me. He's going to be sold.

LB: Jordi Alba, will start almost all the games.
LB 2: Grimaldo, will be leaving in a loan deal or will stay as the back up if no good loan partner is found.
LB 3: Adriano, he stays and he'll find a spot to play a couple games or he gets sold.

CDM: Sergio Busquets, finally got a rating bump. Guy is solid.
CDM 2: Mascherano, will be alternating from CB to CDM.
CDM 3: Sergi Samper, will be leaving on loan or as a semi back up for Busi.

CM's: Iniesta & Rakitic, will be tough to bump these guys out of the starting XI.
CM 3: Arda Turan, I will see if I can hold him out till January without him threatening to leave. *Realism* But when he does join the team he will be a CM and not a RM.
CM 4: Rafinha, will play more up top than in the mid, but when needed will drop down.
CM 5: Sergi Roberto, RB is his new home. This is just an emergency spot.
CM 6: Camara, will be leaving on a 2 year loan. Not much future at the Camp Nou.
CM 7: Gerard, will be leaving on loan and may never come back. Not a fan.

RW: Messi, will be tough for anyone else to see time at RW. Even for a second.
ST: Suarez, will be playing most games till a decent YA forward is found.
LW: Neymar, like the top 2 will see most of the action.

RW 2: Rafinha, will be getting most of his playing time at RW with some time as a CM.
RW 3: Turan, will play more as a CM. Will get some games at RW when needed.
RW 4: Munir, leaving on a 2 year loan.

ST: Dongou, will leave on loan if a good opportunity arises. If not he might stay to play some Copa matches and some La Liga games when he can be rotated in. If he leave Messi goes to ST and Halilovic or Turan go to RW.

LW 2: Halilovic, he will alternate from LW and RW. Will see the most amount of time from any back up at the forward position.
LW 3: Aleix Vidal, will get a shot at LW once in a blue moon.
LW 4: Sandro, like Munir will be leaving on a 2 year loan.

    Loaned out players:
CDM Song will leave in year 2.
RW Tello will leave in year 2.
RB Montoya will be leaving in year 3.

The Starting XI for the preseason tourney opener is:

    GK ter Stegen
    RB Sergi Roberto
    CB Bartra
    CB Vermaelen
    LB Grimaldo
    CDM Sergi Samper
    CM Rakitic
    CM Camara
    RW Rafinha
    ST Dongou
    LW Halilovic

    Bench
GK ter Stegen (will play the 2nd half)
    CB Pique
    LB Alba
    LB Adriano
    CDM Busquets
    CM Iniesta
    ST Suarez

Leaving most of the internationals on the bench, hopefully I get a USA pre-season tourney!

Re: *The FIFA 16 Manager Mode Thread*

Started up a career with Torino. A lot of young players with great potential. Just have to make a couple signings and you will be set for years once they grow.

Turned on Summer Transfer window. Not many transfers or crazy ones either. I think the most expensive transfer was for $18 million. Not any big players moved if I recall. Anyways, here are the signings I made before my first season started:

GK Joel Drommel 66 overall 83 potential from FC Twente for $1.5 mill
CB Stephane Sparagna 69 overall 81 potential from Marseille for $2 mill
CM Viktor Kovalenko 70 Overall 84 potential from Shakhtar Donetsk for $4 mill
ST Thierry Ambrose 65 overall 83 potential from Man City for $1.8 mill
LB Fuka Arthur Masuaku 75 overall 85 potential from Olympiakos for $8 mill

Sold Molinaro and Farnerud for a total of $8 mill to Palemo.

The day the Winter window opens, Kamil Glik (my best player at 83 overall) requests a transfer because he's "homesick". Board says I have to sell him, I put in to deny all future offers for him since he's my best player. Board just sold him to Chelsea for $22 mill when his value is $23.5 mill and he's in form! HE'S POLISH and he was "homesick", but gets sold to an English team. I hate the stupid logic EA has in career mode. If he's homesick, he should go to a Polish team. I also hate that you have to sell him. Good thing there is 2 weeks left in the window for someone for me to buy.

You don't have to sell him...I have had many a storyline where I HAVEN'T had to sell any of the guys. Usually I just praise them in press conferences or offer them a little more in their contract if it's that storyline. And around 90% of the time the guys stays.

Offered him a new contract where I increased his wages, but he still insisted leaving. Didn't praise him, though. I'll have to try that next time. I'm trying to buy Rugani, Zouma, or Riedwald to replace him.

Yea the homesick one I usually have to praise him. But the one where they decline the contract increase the wages and you should be good to go depending on the player.

This is true, but you can't do anything about the board making a sale behind your back. It happens. I've had them sell players for way less money a few times. Because of some stupid random thing programmed into the logic of that story line.

After a test MM, restarted my Chelsea MM last night. Won the summer tournament by beating AC Milan in penalties. I had a smile on my face when the game ended 1-1 and went straight to penalties instead of a full 30 minute ET since it was a friendly.

Beat Arsenal in the Community Shield and then had a very disappointing result to start the season against Swansea. Dominated the game but lost 2-1 after leading 1-0 in the first 70 minutes. Sigurdsson scored from a nasty FK and then went up minute later after a scramble in the box after a Zouma mistake. It was a little devastating but I missed a lot of good scoring chances as well.

Back to the drawing board against City.

How do you find the late game this year? Did you feel CPU Swansea had a "boost" after 70'? I'm experimenting with some ini changes. I'm quite satisfied though with how the cpu plays the late game situations. Surely the close score games in FIFA 16 are extremely intense the last 10-15 minutes. Maybe too intense.

I didn't feel so. I felt I lost the game because of my own mistakes. I should have went defensive at 1-0, didn't. Gave up a dumb foul right by the box which cost me right away. 2nd goal I pushed up a lot, they hit with a quick counter that cost me the game.

Other games I don't feel they get a boost. They do pressure to the extreme but playing carefully and changing tactics can help in defending against them. Also allows for a lot of counter opportunities which could kill off their attack completely.

So bottom line is I'm finding the game fair at the end when up.

I switched to Legendary, using community sliders. I'm not liking it, but I'm going to stick with it. I don't like that I feel like all my players are running in sand. And the pass speed seems to be way too low. So I might make some slight adjustments. But I went through the pre season tourney with them. Won the first game 3-2. Lost the second 3-1. Drew the third 2-2. Made it out of the group as the second team. Might have to make a formation change playing at this level. To unlearn some of the bad habits I picked up playing on Pro so far this year.

Using the community sliders as base I increased the marking by 2 for me, decreased by 1 for AI. Also increased by acceleration by 1 and increased pass speed\error for me.

For those of you playing in Germany, does it rain in 90% of your games too? I feel like I haven yet to play a game where it wasn't raining.

                                Att 75/ Mid 75/ Def 74

                                Budget:
                                6.5€ million with 998,000€ wages.
                                $7 million with $1,055,000 wages..
I assume you do not play in Liga BBVA using Sterling Pounds but it is
4.6£ million with 716,000£ for wages.

That is with most recent roster update. Side note they have awesome kits this year... I always like green kits as you can usually wear the home ones a lot. Their away are cool and the third kit is even nice. Rarely do I see a side with three kits I like.

                                Anyhow, hope that helped...
