Re: *The FIFA 16 Manager Mode Thread*
I have never had the game crash from transfers...
But I have had past FIFA's crash from making my roster huge with YA players. I mean like carrying the max and having a full YA. So, two thoughts did you "overfill" your squad or maybe a CPU squad?
Probably not related just what came to my mind. I transfer a lot and do a lot of loans and my MM is fine. So, there is something in particular causing it. This is actually good as this means there is a work around..or I would think.

2017 September Update
First off, what a week in WC 2018 qualifying. Northern Ireland was able to hang on and qualify in second place on the table. They will be returning to the WC stage for the first time since 1986! The entire country is ecstatic. In the second to last game we were able to go into Italy and steal a late victory 0-1. The goal came in the 84th minute off a wonderful corner placed perfectly in the box. But that wasn't enough to secure the spot. We had to at least get a draw with Wales. However, we fell apart in the last match, and Wales took the victory 0-2. They dominated us the whole match. The only thing that saved us was Russia beating Italy 1-0. Which allowed us to get a tie breaker over Italy from goals scored, who will now miss a WC for the first time since 1958!
In league play for the month we did fairly well, going 2-1-1 for the month. We were able to hold BVB to a 2-1 victory over us. They were projected to beat us by 4 goals. So we felt pretty good only losing to them by one. After that we had a shocker of a winner at home vs Schalke, beating them 2-1. Which was then followed by a 0-0 draw with Hamburger away. We then played a stunner of a match at home with Hannover to close out the month. Hannover fell apart early and ended up giving away 5 gaols, giving us an easy three points with a 5-1 victory. It all went down hill for them when centre defensive midfield player Sane was sent off in the 11' for a brutal slide tackle. They were just never able to recover being a man down for the majority of the match.
Here are the current Bundesliga standings as of October 1st 2017.
And here is what the scoring leaders look like.
Our staff and fans are pretty excited about Solanke. He had a hat trick against Hannover, and is playing at top form. We don't expect him to finish top 3 in scorers, but he should finish top 8 or so if he can keep it up.
This month also saw the Europa League play kick off. And it was not a good start for Union Berlin. Losing in the opening match to Galatasaray 5-2. It was never a close game, and Galatasaray out matched us at every position, the outcome was never in question from the first goal scored in the 3'. However, coming off a massive win over Hannover we were pretty confident going into the second game against Nacional. But they would end up getting the better of us in the end. We tried to play for the draw to steal a point late, but that ended up costing us and we gave up a goal. Scoring highlights of that game are below along with game stats.

Which puts us as the only team in our group after two games with no points. Its going to be a battle to dig ourselves out of this hole.
Its going to be much tougher month coming up in October. Playing Bayer and Bayern away, and Gladback and Stuttgart at home. We also have to try and gain some ground in Europa in the third group game. And we start the DFB-Pokal against Friesburg. Could end up being a stressful month.
And I'll try to keep an update of the team using the squad report so you can see how is performing well and who is not on a month to month basis.
Hoping Haas can keep his form up all season, would like to see him go out strong. If he decides to retire that is. Maybe this run will convince him to stay one more year. He is only 35. Lukaku was injured for two weeks and hasn't returned to his old form yet. Hoping he picks it up soon, not having him at his best can really hurt us. He is the main man on our defence.

Hmm. This is a tough one. Leicester just sent me an offer to take over as their manager. I am going to have to think about this. The plan was always to move on eventually to a bigger club. But I don't know if now is the right time. Hmm.

Well done with your Union team Zo. Write ups are excellent
I wonder - has anyone really played around with moving teams yet? Last year I was really frustrated with it. I was Newcastle's manager for 4 years, won 2 EPL titles, and couldnt seem to get any offers to coach elsewhere/was declined by alot of clubs I applied too.
Granted those were my only trophies (I lost back to back FA Cup Finals ..) but I still feel like I should have been able to move teams a bit easier.Last edited by Wavebird99; 10-04-2015, 10:03 AM.Comment

2017 October update
We opened the month away against Bayer 04. It was a tough game, seeing us lose 2-1 to the much stronger team. They held possession for 64% of the match. We on managed to score late on a lucky counter from a failed corner. Then after the international break we took all our frustrations out on Vfb Stuttgart at home. Pulling off a glorious 3-1 win. Timo Werner was able to get a goal against his old team, and commented after the game "it made the win that much sweater".
Then we had a break in league play as we took on SK Rapid in the third group match of the Europa league. We were able to roll our last game form into his and pulled out a comfortable win 3-0. And as Galatasaray continued their steam rolling performance beating Naconial 2-0. Which let us jump up into second place. We face off against Galatasaray next in group game 4. We need to find a way to pull a point out of the match. With how crazy the group has been so far, we still have a chance, but we need to start securing points.
Here is a goal highlight reel of those two great wins.
<iframe src="//www.dailymotion.com/embed/video/x38khw5" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" width="560"></iframe>
We then returned to league play at home against BM-Gladback. Which was a let down for our fans, ending in a 0-0 draw. Not much positive to take away from the game other than we pulled a point out of it. Gladback had the better chances, and they probably deserved to win. They just couldn't convert.
Then just a few days later we played away against a down and out Freiburg in the second round of the DFB-Pokal. We were able to easily glide to a 3-1 win. Bard Finne scored two early in the first half and that pretty much took the air out of Freiburg. Next up in the round of 16 we face Bayer 04, which we will be looking for revenge for the earlier league loss.
And finally to round out the month, we lost away to Bayern Munich. It was a very tough fought game. We almost pulled out a 1-1 draw, but in the 89th minute goal keeper Haas made a terrible throw back into play which was cut out by Muller. He was able to side step Haas and tap it into the net for the winner, 2-1. After the game Haas refused to comment on what he saw and why he made the pass.
So all in all we went 1-1-2 in league in October. Also winning a Europa and domestic cup match. So not bad, but not great.
Here are the current league top 10 standings as of October 27th, before the final Sunday games.
And the next month is looking to be just as tough for Union Berlin. We face off against two top 5 teams, and a third top 10 team in league play. Coupled with another tough match with Galatasaray. It could end up being a make or break month for the team.
And as always here is a look at the final team form for the end of the month. Haas remains the leader and capatin. He seems to be the only player in constant great form. But its hard to fault players when they are going through such and up and down season.
And one final note. I was offered the job of Leicester City, but have decided to turn it down. I can't walk away from the team now in the middle of all these battles. We have a real good shot here of making Europa again next season. Maybe making a DFB cup run. And possibly getting out of group in this years Europa. The Leicester job would have been a good fit, but the time just isn't right.
