Re: *The FIFA 16 Manager Mode Thread*

My Chelsea MM took a little bump of sorts. Oh oh, after a loss to start the season and then followed by 9 straight wins in the EPL, I've now lost 2 straight. 4-1 to Liverpool and 2-1 to Stoke City. 6 goals in 2 games where in the 9 games my defense was ranked first in the league in goals allowed.

Still 1 point ahead on Arsenal at the #1 spot but need to bounce back after the international break.

I think I'm slowly giving up on Oscar. His form has been terrible and he has a score of 5.9 with no goals\assists. I feel every time he has the balls it's followed by a bad pass\bad touch.

I have transfer listed him to see what interest I get.

You guys actually do the weekly training for your guys? Or sim them? Wondering if any advantage doing yourself? I am not the best at stick skills.

I sim them. I'm sure the advantage is if you're really good at them then you can get A's and B's on hard training all the time. I like the balance though sim provides so it works for me.

I usually sim as well. I also usually only do 'easy' or 'medium' drills so as to (hopefully) earn a better score--with lower potential.

With that said, I don't know if it's more beneficial to make an A on an easy drill, or a D on a hard drill...?

          Thoughts, anyone?

Re: *The FIFA 16 Manager Mode Thread*

I set them to do the hard drills and then sim. If you do one player on all 5 drills that way, you will most likely level them up in two-four weeks, depending on where they are at. Like someone in the 50-60s will level up once in two weeks. Someone in the 70's will take 4 and upwards.

I've also noticed that there is this odd thing with it giving good results on bad grades. Even if you get a D on a hard drill, the player will still get decent growth in that stat. So even if you get all D's for a couple weeks, the stats still grow. But I am sure as not going to play them all to find out how much more you get, when this seems to be working just fine.

Last night I took a 70 rated GK, using both hard drills, sim'd three weeks in a row, all D's on every drill. Grew to 71. All stats went up twice, handling, position, etc.

Also I've noticed real players progress much slower on training than youth players. If you take a real life player and train them the same way, they grow much slower than someone you promoted from your youth academy. It almost seems pointless to train a real life player. Not sure if this is an age thing though. Maybe its players over a certain age, like 24 or something. I've yet to try training a real live player who was around 18. That could be it.

The higher the rating for a given statistic the harder it is to grow. It's easier to make a 60 become a 61 than a 75 become a 76. Thats why youth academy players progress faster than real players.

Correct. But that doesn't apply to what I am saying. Why is a guy who is 24 and only rated 61, and a real life player, not growing like a youth player with the exact same training. Is it age based? Or a skew based on him being a real world person and only suspect to the natural growth system because of his pre-programmed potential.

Just finished my 3rd preseason tourney with Portsmouth and managed to reached the semi finals before losing 2-1 but still got paid the full tourney bonus. I thought you only get fully paid if you win the competition. Can someone else confirm this or was I too tired to noticed the difference?

You get a small mount from getting out of group. Then a small amount for losing in the semi. A large amount for winning the semi. A small amount for losing in the final, and a large amount for winning the final.

At least that has been my experience in all the ones I've done.

Anybody here still playing on PS3? Not sure the lack of preseason tournaments make much of a difference, but I wished they'd kept training in for PS3.

Ah great goal against Sampdoria at 70´. First that hard tackle ahah, then the power shot. Good stuff!

Well, after deciding to go full default sliders this year, I finally started my career mode, as usual, picking a team from my country, Portugal.
Chose V. Guimarães, an average team, pratically unknow outside the Portuguese League, but with good potential. Last year they qualified for Europe so I´m playing Europa League in the first season.

Also managed to bring Sandro and Munir (wingers) from Barça on loan as well as Fokobo (CB), a young guy with good potential to grow up in the club throughout the season.

For now, 1st episode, we play against Salerno and Bk Hacken in the Preseason tournament.

                                EVERTON - FIFA 16 CM:

I decided to go with me regular team since FIFA 16 is so fun on the pitch with right settings, so exploiting the wings is a thing of the past. I always have picked Everton in past because of Tim Howard in goal. I also like to get a young USA talent or 2 and try to develop into regular EPL talent. This years player I have gotten in a transfer if John Brooks, who i will try to develop into a top CB and replace Jagielka when ready. I will try to transfer out unneeded players and ones plus 30 if not needed. After my preseason tourney in Colombia where I played mostly backups and young players to get a feel of depth; I have decided to change to a formation with 2 up top and went after Harry Kane (and landed him hopefully not overpriced to go along side Lukaku's brilliant hold up play. Will start me EPL season next with Watford for first test. Toffee's drew game in real life 2-2. Here is my starting 11 for beginning of season:

                                Starting 11: (hybrid 4-4-2)

                                GK - Howard
                                LB - Baines
                                CB - Jagielka
                                CB - Stones
                                RB - Coleman
