Re: *The FIFA 16 Manager Mode Thread*
Im struggl;ing with who to be atm.
usually go with an Inter season, but their teams is too good this year.
Kinda looking for a major challenge, european club but it wont feel weird if i sign a few 'stars' (ie Bojan aint gonna go to Notts COunty is he).
Im a stoke fan myself, but never a fan of doing one with my own team fopr some reason lolComment

Re: *The FIFA 16 Manager Mode Thread*
I'm considering going Ligue 1. The issue I have is, it's not very good. Also there's only 4 spots for Europe. In last years game I dropped a tonne of young talent all across Serie A to make it very competitive, and I feel like I'd have to do that 2 fold for Ligue 1
That and I also cant really find a team I want to be. I hate so many of the kits in Ligue 1 lol. Angers seem ok to me.Comment

Re: *The FIFA 16 Manager Mode Thread*
Thinking of starting a MM with Swansea. I like taking middle of the road prem teams into the top of the league.
for Fifa 15 I did a Newcastle and 14 I had Southampton. Swansea seem like a cool choice this yearComment

Not much too work with at York City in League 2!, a massive task trying to turn this club around!, I didn't fair too well in the European International Cup dropping all 3 games!.
To start the season off, We copped a belting at the hands of Nott's County 4-1, following a 1-0 loss in our Capitol One Cup match against MK Dons, as newly appointed Manager the pressure was mounting very early into my short Manager Career!.Next match against Northampton we played a lot better defeating Northampton 3-1, and picking up another win against Cambridge Untited 3-0
There's not a great deal of talent in the squad, I'm mainly focusing training on my 23 year old striker Vadaine Oliver (61 Overall) who has scored twice already in League 2 games, Josh Carson (61 Overall) is another prospect that will get some training drills.

I'm looking to strengthen up the CB position so far Hooiveld and Dervite ar the two that my scouts have found for me that seem the most appealing at this point of time. Let me know what you think, keeping things realistic I plan on mostly scouting smaller countries while York City is in League 2, and slowly expand as hopefully the team succeeds!
Currently sitting 6th in the tables at 2-0-1 with our next opponent Newport County!, both strikers Oliver and Hyde have struck the back of the net twice this season already, but Vidaine Oliver will get the start for the next match!

Re: *The FIFA 16 Manager Mode Thread*
I'm off with Swansea. Pre-season tournament didnt go so hot though. Was mostly fiddling around with formations and what not but I ended up not advancing out of my group -
Game 1: vs. Stade Rennais. Drew 1-1. I scored first in the 60th with a great shot from Wayne Routledge (who was by far my best player all tournament), but I conceded an equalizer late in the 86th. Didnt clear a ball properly and they made me pay.
Game 2 vs. Fiorentina. Loss 1-0. Tough game, but I didnt play well. They were clearly the better side and got a nice goal in the 55' to send me away.
Game 3 vs. St. Etteine. Won 1-0. Really nice finish from my backup Marvin Ennes who asked to play this game and made himself look good doing so.
That left me with an even goal difference, but Stade Rennais went through behind Florence as they finished up with a +1 GD.
I feel good about the team though and am excited for the Prem to start. Probably gonna play Chelsea later tonight. Bad injury news happened right before the tourney though - Jefferson Montero tore his hammy on international duty and will miss the first two months of the season. Thats never cool.
ALso can someone confirm how many seasons you can do in MM? I saw 25 but I always thought it was 15.Last edited by Wavebird99; 09-25-2015, 10:37 PM.Comment

Re: *The FIFA 16 Manager Mode Thread*
Started a career with Newport County in League 2. Choose them because I wanted to start in the bottom division and Newport are Welsh like my team Swansea. Didn't get much money to work with, so I signed Joe Dodoo (ST/60/20yr) from Leicester for £190,000 and Ruben Loftus-Cheek (CM/63/19yr) from Chelsea on a 2 year loan deal. Spent the rest of my money on youth players from Japan + one from France I got using the Scout future star.
The future star I got, named Lakdar Diaz would be my 2nd best player if I was allowed to use him but I can't because he's only 15 years old. I'm liking the training feature since you can really mould your players how you like, for example I've been training Diaz on set pieces and passing.
After 12 games I'm 6-2-4 and in 7th position on 20 points. Lost in the 2nd round of the Capital One Cup to Brighton, I tried to park the bus to get it to a shoot out but I conceded in the 115th minute. I'm struggling find a reliable goal scorer, I've managed 15 goals in 12 games in the league but not one player has more than 3 goals. 6 players have 2 or more though which is a good sign. Biggest loss was 4-1 to Northampton Town and the biggest win was 5-0 against Plymouth Argyle, a game in which I scored 2 nice free kicks.
My starting LB Barrow broke his ankle or something and is out for 3 months so I've been forced to put the 46 rated 17 year old Lewis Bamford at LB and he's been surprisingly good. I've alternating formations between a 4-4-2 and a 5-3-2 depending on the opponent and who I have available.
The assistant manager is starting to annoy me though, he keeps sending me emails telling me I should send young players away on loan but Newport are one of the worst clubs in the game so if a player isn't getting game time here he won't be getting any anywhere else.Comment

2 issues I've so far are:
1). The CPU is just too fast on the wings. All the goals I've conceded Sofar are from the wings. They just push the ball and run and when they push the ball they are so fast that the only way I can stop them is just have a player waiting for them. Mind you I reduced the pace and speed slider for CPU to 48 while the game speed is slow.
2). unrealistic expectation from my board who expect me to win the league with a bunch of old, slow and tired legs + the peanut I get as transfer fee.
Other than that am really enjoying the game.
** Anyone have an idea of a good, promising and very cheap young player to buy. In fifa 15 I got a player called Hiram Boateng and after a few months he was unstoppable in my midfield. Right now I can't get him bcos he has been loaned out by his team. So I need any good player that will grow fast. All my young players are under a rating of 57 and that is tortured.

Also playing with Portsmouth and York city is currently topping the table with 9 points (3-0-1)from 4 games. My Portsmouth team has 8 points (2-2-0). My team is made up of grand pas. Still trying to get some youngsters in. I managed to beat Liverpool in the cup by 2-1.

What irk me is that the AI sell young players at exorbitant prices always above the estimated value but want to buy our players under the estimated value.

Re: *The FIFA 16 Manager Mode Thread*
I've found that young players are much more expensive this year. Very difficult for RTG teams. I spent my first two seasons using a ton of loan players with Barnet, but after two years of promotion, I lost all those players and now am stuck with 5 mil budget in the Championship and a whole team of mid to low 60s. And the players I had been loaning in all grew too much for me to be able to loan them back or buy them. Needless to say, this season has been incredibly difficult! Somehow in 11th after 10 games.Comment

Re: *The FIFA 16 Manager Mode Thread*
Yeah, I dont agree either. I was able to get some good young players at pretty fair prices.Comment
