    How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?

    November 2015 Season 3

    AFC Wimbledon 2 - 1 Leeds United
    WIM: Fenlon 77' Hanson 90'
    LEE: McCormack 90'
    (Breaking character) I think this has been my favorite match in all of my 3 seasons here at Wimbledon! Leeds just had a really quick style of play full of 1-2 touches. It was awesome just watching them play, until I remembered I had to stop them! (Back in character) Ross McCormack fired in a tremendous shot to equalize the match in injury time placing a frown on the Wimbledon supporters' faces as they witnessed Leeds take 2 points off their hands. As luck would have it, Wimbledon pressed high immediately after kick-off, sent a cross into the box which James Hanson beautifully controlled in the box with one touch and then took a very powerful shot into the back of the net to give The Dons the lead once again. Ross McCormack looked back at his teammates from the midfield with a face resembling frustration like saying "Come on, seriously? You had one job!" It's already rumored that McCormack wants to leave Leeds United, and his teammates are certainly not helping convince him with these kinds of slip-ups. Leeds United currently sit in 13th place on the league table.

    Europa League:
    Vfl Wolfsburg 3 - 3 AFC Wimbledon
    WOB: De Bruyne 13' Bony 34' De Bruyne 52'
    WIM: Gornell 19' 44' Hird 68'
    Six goals in one match! The group leaders previously defeated the Dons in the first leg, but this time around Wimbledon took the fight to them. Both teams simply refused to lose! The trip to Germany was certainly worth it for the Wimbledon fans!

    Fulham 0 - 1 AFC Wimbledon
    WIM: Tafazolli 5'
    Plenty of fans left the stadium disappointed after a rather dull match. The league leaders simply did not play like league leaders and gave all the initiative to their opponents. On the other hand, Wimbledon grabbed an early goal from a corner and then sat back to wait for the final whistle.

    AFC Wimbledon 1 - 0 Peterborough
    WIM: Gornell 82'
    No surprise here as Wimbledon grabbed 3 points from the bottom team in the league, but what did surprise us was how much Wimbledon struggled to obtain it. This is the second match in a row that Wimbledon haven't looked their best on the pitch.

    Middlesbrough 1 - 0 AFC Wimbledon
    MID: De Camargo 54'
    Once again Wimbledon struggled to take control of the match except that this time their opponents took advantage of it. What is going on at the Wimbledon camp???

    Capital One Cup Quarter Finals
    AFC Wimbledon 0 - 2 Arsenal
    ARS: Ozil 23' Pogba 43'
    Wimbledon were unable to upset Arsenal this time around and have been eliminated from the Capital One Cup making this the earliest Wimbledon have been eliminated from the Capital One Cup under Chavez. Jack Midson has been in bad form these past few weeks, but this has been his worst performance. The 32 year old offensive midfielder is usually a 90 minute player but this time was taken off at the 60th minute as Chavez realized that he was losing the midfield and Midson wasn't helping out neither in attack nor defense. Wimbledon played a lot better then but was still unable to break Fabianski. Arsene Wenger's fairly-new signings Paul Pogba and Edin Dzeko played an outstanding match.

    FL Championship League Table
    1. Fulham - 47 points
    2. AFC Wimbledon - 42 points
    3. Wigan Athletic - 41 points
    4. QPR - 40 points
    5. Wolverhampton - 33 points
    6. Reading - 32 points
    ---------------
    22. Blackpool - 14 points
    23. Bristol City - 10 points
    24. Peterborough - 6 points

    Europa League Group L
    1. VfL Wolfsburg - 10 points (+4)
    2. AFC Wimbledon - 5 points (+4)
    3. FC Twente - 4 points (-6)
    4. Molde FK - 2 points (-4)

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    A difficult month for Chavez finishing with 3 victories, 1 draw, and 2 defeats. As mentioned earlier in my column Jack Midson has been in terrible form. The 32 year old striker-turned-midfielder started off the season on fire, but has turned it down a few notches in recent weeks. The player was characterized by his frequent runs from midfield to the opposite box frequently taking the position of a 2nd striker next to Terry Gornell and Danny Kedwell in his time, but he hasn't made those runs in quite some time now and instead waits for the ball to arrive at his feet. Despite his bad form, Midson was very unhappy with Chavez's decision to take him off early in the Arsenal match and actually informed the press that he was very unsatisfied with his playing time at Wimbledon even though I'm pretty sure he's started every match he's fit for.
    George Francomb has been linked to Wimbledon for a 3rd time since his departure in January of 2014, only this time it looks like it could happen. The player does not fit in Ipswich Town's formation and has only played 3 matches this season. Chavez did state that the doors were open for the player to return during the press conference following his departure, and he would be a great candidate to fill in Midson's role in midfield.
    Wimbledon play FC Twente next, yes the team that was humiliated and torn apart 5-0 in the Don's European debut. Only 1 point separate the two teams in the group standings and there's only 2 matches left. If Twente are able to take the 3 points they'll be just 1 match away from eliminating Wimbledon and going through to the next round. Only then will they be able to shake off that embarrassing scoreline from the first leg.
    Thanks for tuning in, this has been ChicoBass. Thanks for reading!
      Indiblue's press conference @ The Amex
      First of all, congratulations on winning the league. How does it feel?
      Wow, just wow. I can't think of any words right now. The lads deserve all the credit. They put on some brilliant performances, and each of them played their hearts out to win this trophy. For me, it's a very special day as I get to see these boys rewarded for all the effort they've put in over the last ten months.
      Three seasons with Brighton, just two of them in the top flight, and you've already got a league title. That's a mighty fine accomplishment.
      The thing with Brighton is that this club has been consistently challenging for promotion since the start of this decade. The quality was there long before I showed up. You could say that they should have been in the Premier League one or two years before I came in, finishing lower mid-table and consolidating for an assault on the top spots.
      Our achievement is down to the fact that there are some extremely talented footballers in this side. It doesn't matter where we were two or three seasons ago. All that counts is that we're the English champions.
      But the financial factor is a major talking point.
      I don't think it should really be much of a shock that a team can win the league having spent the kind of money we have. Paying £40 million for a player who scored 30 goals the previous season doesn't mean he's actually worth that. The performances he puts in after moving, that's what counts. Just because there are no household names in my team doesn't mean they aren't the best footballers this country's top flight has to offer.
      But yes, I can see why some people will revel in the fact that a team assembled on less than £30 million has won the league. It's a refreshing twist from clubs who buy superstars rather than develop promising talent, but those clubs deserve credit. Manchester City ran us to the last day, and Chelsea were arguably the best attacking side in the league all season.
      But you beat them 4-0 at Stamford Bridge. Nobody does that.
      That was quite a pleasing win. To see Will (Buckley) really grab hold of that game tells you what kind of player he is. A brace plus two assists is amazing enough on its own, but against Chelsea those figures are just phenomenal. He's the best English footballer in the world by a country mile.
      Yet he's not been selected for the Euros.
      I don't want to comment on another manager's team selection. Roy Hodgson did what he thought best. Will has had a great year, with 16 goals in the league alone and 25 in all competitions. Next season, he will get to show everyone how good he really is by competing against the best teams in Europe during our Champions League campaign. Hopefully, that will be recognised by those responsible for national team selections.
      What about Nicklas Bendtner? There were issues at the start of the season.
      Yes, but clearly there are none now. How can you have a problem with a player who plays two consecutive 30-goal seasons? Nicky has added an element of assists to his game this year, and sure he has scored a few less than last season, but he's still been responsible for 30 goals in the league. The key was to get him moving in the right ways that suit him and our system. Once we figured that out early this year, he started pounding in the goals just like he did last season.
      So will he be at the club next season?
      We have two months until the transfer window closes, and that's a very long time. A lot can happen between now and then, especially when you're a relatively small title-winning club. The bigger teams are invariably going to try to buy our best players, but the board and I are committed to holding on to this team. This is not a club looking to profit by selling its best players. Thanks to the increased revenue of the Premier League and our sensible spending habits, we've already paid off most of the debt on our stadium. With next season's Champions League revenue hopefully becoming a regular thing, we will be able to expand our stadium and brand over the next few years. By the end of this decade, we hope to be operating with minimal and manageable debt, if not turning a minor annual profit. But I can promise you and the fans of this club that Tony Bloom and I will do everything in our power to prevent this squad from being torn apart.
      But Lewis Dunk has announced that he's requested a transfer and wants to leave for a club where he can play regularly.
      I would have preferred that Lewis kept that between him and us, but these things aren't in our hands. Lewis is free to look for a club that will have him, but they will need to pay the right price. He won't be going for a cut price.
      Sherif Ekramy was also released.
      Yes, and while Sherif was always 100% prepared and committed, he simply wasn't a vital member of this squad. It sounds cruel, but the reality is that some players are expendable. He wasn't mislead to think otherwise. All my boys know exactly where they stand with me, and when Sherif told us that he'd found a club who wanted to have him play regularly, we did not want to stand in his way. Brighton wishes him all the very best in the future.
      Is it true you've been offered jobs to manage Brazil and Juventus?
      Yes, I have received offers from the Brazilian federation as well as from Juventus. However, I feel that duties as Brazil manager would prevent me from being able to give 100% to Brighton, which is where I wish to remain.
      Are you ruling out a move to another club?
      I am, definitely and comprehensively.
      You've been quietly re-structuring the youth academy at Brighton and have some promising lads waiting in the wings, yes?
      Oliver Bunney has been leading the scouting and development programme with some verve. He's found and helped shape some very promising players. I think Jake Rosenior and Gil Vicente are the ones you boys in the press find to be the most talented. They're only 16, so there's still time to go until we consider promoting them to the first team, but we will be integrating some academy players into the first team over the next two or three seasons.
      Tell us about your three Bosman signings.
      Alexandre Lacazette is a striker who hasn't fulfilled his full potential at Lyon, and we hope that he will add depth to our team while becoming as good as he can be with Brighton. As for Gregory van der Wiel, we had to make a move after Jonathan decided to retire early this season. He'll do well given his performances during PSG's last three seasons as French champions.
      Maxime Gonalons is arguably the most controversial. He came out of Lyon's youth academy and was the captain up until this season. To have signed a player of that stature is wonderful for us, but to have got Alex along with him is a stunning piece of work from our player recruitment team.
      It's safe to say Lyon won't be doing business with you in the future.
      No, not for the next few years I would presume!
      Can you confirm your interest in Abdul Razak and Jordon Ibe?
      We have agreed a fee for Abdul with Manchester City, but that's contingent to certain other circumstances and movements. It's now down to the player to accept the terms laid out in front of him. Of course, there will be a bit of back and forth during negotiations, but the ball is in his court. We have approached Liverpool regarding Jordon, and a deal is being negotiated.
      Let's wrap this up. What will we see from you next season?
      What would you like to see?
      Retain the title, have a good run in Europe, and revert to the 4-3-3.
      I can promise you that one of those things will surely happen.
      Congratulations again, Indi.
      Thank you very much.
        Great job! Win this next Europa league game and you are through to the round of 16! Hoping you can continue to hold on to that top 2 spot and advance to the Premier League. Would be just an absolute amazing run if you can pull it off with this club.
          Re: How's Your FIFA 14 Career Mode Going?
          Hello everyone! I'm finally back from my holiday (again). So yeah, it's Hertha time.
          Great results and congrats on winning the title, Indi! And don't you dare leave Brighton. Your league and Europa League runs have also been tremendous, ChicoBass. And everyone else is doing really well and I enjoy reading everything here.
          Becoming the Best
          The transfer window is open again! Thanks to the German winter break Hertha BSC will have only two important matches in the first month of the new year. Hertha's manager Ganchev hasn't commented any of his transfer targets. According to fans, the club needs a left-back and a central midfielder.
          January 2014
          Hertha 2 - 4 Wolfsburg
          Stocker 28', 58'
          Vieirinha 25', Olic 45', De Bruyne 51', Träsch 63'
          We got humiliated by Wolfsburg again, this time in front of our fans. The Volkswagen-owned team got to a good start thanks to a Vieirinha curling shot. Valentin Stocker equalized right after kickoff and Hertha kept the ball. After a bad pass by Rode Wolfsburg started a counter which led to a headed goal by the Croatian veteran. Right after the start of the second half de Bruyne dribbled past all of my defenders and smashed the ball from inside the box to the bottom corner. Stocker equalized again but couple minutes later Träsch scored the fourth. Their keeper Benaglio played really well and saved 6 of our shots.
          Frankfurt 2 - 2 Hertha
          Joselu 32', Meier 57'
          Ramos 13', Skjelbred 85'
          Not a good result. We were the better team and deserved to win but our finishing was poor. Rode picked up a red card.
          An amazing signing for Hertha! Ganchev proved his skill as a manager by getting the 20-year-old midfielder to join the newly promoted side from the Italian not-anymore-so-great Inter Milan. Many fans questioned the record-high price of €8.5 million but Ganchev was sure Kovacic would pay off the price.
          "When Hertha messaged me, I was pretty sure I'd stay in Milano. But then when Ganchev came personally to Italy to negotiate with me and Inter and I heard about his targets and his passion I was ready to join. I'm looking forward to playing for this great side and I'll try to win as many trophies as I can. It will be a fun challenge", commented the young Croatian.
          Fabian Johnson
          €1.2 million
          "A really cheap price for an amazing fullback", said Ganchev after the signing. And many agree. Johnson is one of the league's best left-backs and Hertha got a really good deal. The American 26-year-old is ready to shine in Berlin.
          "I have always admired Hertha and Ganchev seems like a great guy and a great manager. I'm sure we'll win many trophies with this team", were the words of the US international who had 6 months left on his contract.
          Divock Origi
          €500.000 + Sami Allagui
          A surprise signing for basically every Berliner. No-one was expecting Ganchev to let go of Allagui - especially for an unproven 19-year-old.
          Divock is a good lad full of potential. I'm sure he'll shine at the World Cup later this year", commented Ganchev after buying Origi from the French Lille. The young man didn't want to comment his arrival.
          Memphis Depay
          €2.8 million + Anis Ben-Hatira
          A deadline day signing by Ganchev that excited many fans. The 21-year-old Dutch player is considered one of Holland's greatest talents. Ganchev commented the signing by calling Depay "Fantastic winger who gives always 110 percent" and "A star for the future". Sadly for the fans the deal saw Ben-Hatira going across the border.
          "I'm ready for Germany and I've always wanted to play in the Bundesliga. This will be a test for me but I'll do my best. I'm looking to get to the first team quicky and to help the team."
          Out
          Ronny
          €7.5 million
          One of the two sold players was the fan-favourite Brazilian freekick specialist Ronny. He was an important man but Saint-Etienne made an offer Hertha couldn't refuse. Selling of the midfielder opened the doors to Mateo Kovacic financially, though.
          "I love club and it will always remain in my heart. The club wanted me to leave and they received a good offer. I wish them the best", Ronny commented.
          Peer Kluge
          €160.000
          The veteran left the club after not getting to play in any of the matches. Ganchev didn't comment the deal at all.
            Q: Congratulations on advancing to the round of 16 for the Champions League. Not many expected Deportivo to be here, but you have defied the odds. What can you say about this team and this accomplishment?
            A: Thank you. We knew we had a good chance going into the last game against PAOK. A win guaranteed advancement, but unfortunately we were only able to manage a draw. We got some luck on our side though when Arsenal beat Dortmund to ensure our advancement. I am beyond proud of this group that got us here. They have accomplished so much together and more is still to come. We have a great core of players, and the pieces around them only keep getting better. I am looking forward to our round of 16 match up against PSG. It won't be easy, but we expected that with this competition.
            Q: The Copa Del Rey is looking up as well with you advancing to the round of 16 and winning the first leg of that match up against Athletic Bilbao. Heading into the second leg do you expect to be moving on to the quarter finals?
            </td></tr><tr height="20" style="height: 15pt;"><td height="20" style="border: 0px black; height: 15pt; background-color: transparent;">
            A: Last season our cup run ended in the quarter finals. We are excited at the chance to get back to that stage and try to advance further. We are in a great position heading into the home leg with a 1 goal advantage and 2 away goals to that tally. We take this competition very serious and winning the Copa Del Rey is a major goal we want to accomplish.
            Q: Unfortunate news came out today. Upon receiving an offer to extend his contract, club captain Juan Dominguez has turned it down and is looking to other opportunities after this season. The media has been receiving word from his agent, but has the player had any communication with you or the board?
            </td></tr><tr height="20" style="height: 15pt;"><td height="20" style="border: 0px black; height: 15pt; background-color: transparent;">
            </td></tr><tr height="20" style="height: 15pt;"><td height="20" style="border: 0px black; height: 15pt; background-color: transparent;">
            A: Juan Dominguez is a player that grew up in the Deportivo system. He is our captain and is an amazing representative of this club with how long he has been here. This is the only club he has ever known. We are working through contract negotiations now and we still hold out hope that he will be with us next season. It is a process, and the whisperings that get out in the media aren't always representative of what the reality is. Don't believe anything until you see him put a pen to paper on a new contract, whether that is with Deportivo, or elsewhere.
                Thanks a lot guys, it was really spectacular winning the title the way we did! There's going to be a couple of major surprises for this season, and a marquee signing is on the way.
                Chico, great work in Europe and the league. That payday can come in handy signing some pre-contract players.
                Simppu, nice buys for Hertha. I particularly like that you grabbed Origi and Depay, both are excellent and for great prices.
                Texasbum, good luck as you continue climbing the table. Your results speak for themselves. That top 4 spot has your name on it!
                  OK Guys. I played the transfer window of 3 careers, Inter, Bilbao and Newcastle. I didn't update them though. Inter was OK, and may come into play in the future, Bilbao is one I hated but Newcastle. Love it. So we're staying in England, but it will be long term where I switch between clubs. My aims for Newcastle before I leave:
                  Win the FA Cup
                  Become a staple European qualifier
                  Reach the Champions League
                  Win the league?
                  First update tomorrow
                    Win the FA Cup
                    Become a staple European qualifier
                    Reach the Champions League
                    Win the league?
                    First update tomorrow
                    I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Newcastle thanks to Nolberto Solano. Dude was amazing. Former Boca Jrs. player too
                      I've always had a soft spot for them since the Goal! movies.
Never had that kind of money here you know! There's only one player I'm looking at: Wolverhampton's Lee Evans (Wales) who has hardly played for the Wolves this season. I was gonna look for a good CDM (possibly Basham from Blackpool) but Hird has been playing amazingly well at only 61 overall. George Francomb (sold in my first season) doesn't fit in Ipswich Town's 5-2-1-2 system so I might bring him back to Wimbledon and offer him real playing time. Might just use the leftover money for an improved youth system. Don't know what to do with so much money! Haha
                        I can't remember if you've already mentioned this, but it seems to me that getting into Europa League was a blessing as otherwise you may had become a victim of your own success. It seems your board has not rewarded your accomplishments with enough funds. I'm sure I dont need to remind you but use those incoming funds WISELY. May I recommend buying a young star that you can develop and sell later for more money? (it will hurt to let him go, but you may have to)
                            The transfer window is open again! Thanks to the German winter break Hertha BSC will have only two important matches in the first month of the new year. Hertha's manager Ganchev hasn't commented any of his transfer targets. According to fans, the club needs a left-back and a central midfielder.
                              I just picked up an Xbox 1 and Fifa 14, and I've started a career mode with Everton on Legendary difficulty. I'm an experienced player on the 360, but the XB1 will be a challenge. Come check out my live stream on twitch if you're into that sort of thing.
                                Oh wow, that's not nice and it hurt a lot. I'll report you to the police for bullying. Nah, just kidding.
                                But in all seriousness, thanks a lot for pointing that out! I'm probably still in holiday mood because firstly I forgot to write the press conference. At the end I decided that the signings were commented and a conference wasn't needed. Secondly, I forgot to add the league table. Now it's there but I'll also put it in this post.
                                Well, Depay is a good player with potential and he played well in the World Cup. Of course we'll buy him. And to be honest, I was also looking at Indi's top guy Buckley but I decided to get the Belgian boy.0
                                And here's the league table which has been added to the January update:
