Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
I have a quick question, is it worth it getting FM13 now even though I have FM12? Which game does everyone generally think is better?
Also, for ubernoob:

13 is a great addition and the new features are worth it. The OS review does a great job of summarizing it http://osatwork.com/reviews/690/football-manager-2013/
Check out greenmangaming.com for a good deal.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
A stressful year 2 ended in more stress. 2 points up on Man United for the title and all I needed is 4 points to win. Got 1... scored 0 goals in two games against Middlesbrough (20th) and Norwich (17th). What a disastrous ending. Especially considering we led the leagues in goals.
What's worse is is going in the 2nd leg of the CL semi-final against United I was up 4-1 and... lost! At least Bayern destroyed them in the Final 4-1.
The only positive is that year 2 was about my team finally coming together on the pitch and improved from 4th to 2nd and CL knockout stage to semi-final. Falcao was a beast and put in 50 goals. Him and Llorente have made a good combination up top. Also
Off-season wise I've brought in Son Heung-min from HSV. Let Cole and Lampard go and fans are irate at my decision to let Frank go. Thing is at 36 Super Frank wanted a super contract and he doesn't fit the new quick Chelsea mold. Big sells so far have been Essien, Romeu, and the disaster know as Benzema. Lost a lot of money on him but at least he's gone. Torres is still here though.
With Cole gone now Coentrao will be playing most of the games.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
The fans will forget all about Lampard if you win without him. Stupid fans.
Meanwhile, back at Karlsruhe, I sit in third place (promotion playoff spot), but my strikers cannot score. They were scoring well to start the year, but now all four of my strikers have gone over 15 hours of football without scoring. ARGH. I've told all four that if they don't improve, I'll have to stop playing them, and all four responded positively but then followed that up with continuing not to score. So, at the moment, I'm having to narrowly win games with goals coming from my AMs. This could be disastrous if I can't start getting goals from up top.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
OS Future Regens (beta) File Up-to-date so far in the thread.
**NOT SAVE GAME COMPATIBLE**
File goes here: Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 2013/data/db/1300/edt/
Go into FM, click preferences, click extra files, and check to make sure the "future_regens" box is checked. Start a new game, and voila. We now have some OSers as potential future FM stars. Or busts.badComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Do these regens pop in during the first batch of youth intake in each nation? And do they go to a team in the natuon the regen is from or will they show up only in leagues you have loaded?Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
They pop up randomly, could be first batch could be 10 years down the line.
I believe everything is random, except for the nationality. The one I had pop up was a random dude created for testing in scotland. Didn't really show him in game (I only had english teams & us loaded up) until he moved to Fulham @ the age of 18 or 19. Said he started out with Celtic (favoured team) but they don't always start for a favored team.
From all I understand, everything is pretty random, save for the names, Dates of birth (except year which is randomized), nationality, and club listed as favorite. Teams they can show up for are random, but I don't know if a US regen would pop up for an English team. Haven't done enough test games to prove one way or another.badComment

Two years of no money and mid table finishes at Serie B Cittadella until Lazio came offering me a deal. I took a huge pay cut you don't balk when your wage budget increases ten fold. I have no transfer budget but there is no reason with my current squad that I can't storm this season.Comment

Also, FM WeeGiE has released their first database update. It's over at http://www.fmweegie.co.uk
Aside from FMFormation's huge database updates they release, Weegie's is always my favorite DB update to correct contracts/loans/etc.badComment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Finally getting back to my Stuttgarter Kickers save. One of the best logos out there, IMO:
Built a pretty solid squad. Tried to keep it as lean and young as possible, but some early season injuries forced my hand a bit. Luckily, we had a pretty decent squad to begin with. We'll see how the season progresses.Comment

Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***
Just learned another cool tidbit.
So I suck at transfers, because I used to expect to pay a little over players value. There's a column you can insert called "New Asking Price" on screens (I used what ImTellinTim posted in here, and added that.)
To check it out, I put in a random offer for Gotze based on what new AP said (30mil) and it was accepted. Just a tip for those who have transfer issues like myself. It can be put in on the search screen, your team screen, and others team screens.badComment
