Re: ***The Official Football Manager Thread***

New article pops up about how New Zealand U23s are now looking for a manager to lead them in the Olympic games. I apply. This is the immediate response.

Um. I am the one who got you qualified. Then was forced to leave the post against my will. Now they you hire me back to play in the games I made possible. Not cool.

Man Russia was difficult, got promoted from the PFL to the FNL, then got sacked 6 games in because of my "Lack of control over finances"

Do any of you start with a random team or do most of you just play with your favorite team?

So my league form is pretty good, I guess...

I'm still in 2nd place, somehow.

Alright, boys. We need to turn around a 2-3 aggregate scoreline to advance to the next knockout round in the Champions League...

Random team, I don't want to play in the MLS with the Rapids.

Sounds good. I guess I'm heading for some random non-topflight European league. Thanks for the response.

I prefer to start unemployed and just see where the save takes me.

Hm, I'll have to try that on a save. Sounds fun.

As far as picking a random team... I ended up in Vanarama North with Stalybridge. My first friendly was against Hyde and was a successful 3-0 outing. I'm quite pleased, because last year I just used other peoples tactics, but made a vow to myself to only use my own tactics this year. Really happy to get off to winning ways. Even if it is just friendlies.

Getting sacked at San Marino while doing the San Marino Challenge is not ideal ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When you lose 3 of your 4 strikers in the same game (and following week's training) including your top goal scorer.....yay.

Woot! New job. A far better job than I probably deserve at this stage I think. I hope I don't struggle and get fired.

I love that they don't talk about my 5 league titles, or 8 cup wins. But that one time, that one time I lost in the cup final. Figures.

Got all my coach badges done and dusted while at TNS. And now my stats are inflated from dominating the league for four straight years. However I didn't improve too much manager stats wise, even for having the highest level of badge.

Oddly, not a single job offer from and English speaking country either. But I did turn down 8 jobs before taking this one. The journey(man) continues.

Apparently my lack of financial control really hurt me, I ended up in the 2. Division in Denmark with fallen Superliga team Brønshøj. After my off-season signings though we're tipped for promotion, so hopefully I'll have 2 years, 2 promotions under my belt. I did take them over amidst their relegation battle, but it was fairly easy to save them.

First game in my first hopefully full season with Brønshøj, it was a freaking nail biter.

I didn't realize I didn't have the second division in Greece loaded. And this team was just promoted. They only had 11 players on the first team. Two of which I cut instantly for being 37 and 38 and garbage physicals. Well, not cut, but signed them both to my completely empty coaching staff.

Its been oddly fun building an entirely new team from scratch. Players and staff. It was just me and a scout on the staff.

sometimes you get aggressive during the second half team talk, sometimes your players respond:
