The only questionable inclusion imo is Bedoya. I feel like he is going only because he is playing in Europe and played decently last summer. He is horrendously out of form right now, the second half of his season at Nantes was so bad he made lequipe's worst 11 of the season.

I think Terrance Boyd is wildly underrated by both Bradley and JK, he is probably our best center forward right now. I'm probably more sad he isn't going than Donovan.

JK has been there before and has been successful as player so he knows what it takes to win, sometimes you dont put a guy on a team just because he is the "face" of us soccer. Besides we are looking at 2018 right now and just accept that if they fail and get slaughtered so be it that wouldnt be a shocker but they might surprise you

It looks as though Donovan's hiatus hurt him in the long run.

Also, I'm shocked at how poorly some people are taking this. I'm as big of a Donovan fan as the next guy, and I still think he merits a place in the squad, but I would never go so far as to boycott the team I love, filled with players I will always cheer for regardless of kit color, nevermind analysis I'm not even sure is true anymore.

It looks as though Donovan's hiatus hurt him in the long run.

Also, I'm shocked at how poorly some people are taking this. 2. Media distraction? Would he not have been a media distraction in all previous Word Cups too? I don't buy #2 one single bit! I can except the 4 others but not #2 at all.

He just told it like it is! Spot On! Once you listen to his rant you can't argue against what he said! He stated the absolute facts about Donovan!

Uhh just a few things real fast then you can go back to being outraged:

1. Dempsey is younger than Donovan
2. Yedlin, Brooks, Jones and Green all play different positions than Donovan

I thought Dempsey was a year older. My bad for that. I do realize that those guys are different positions. Still doesn't take the fact that they're younger & much less experienced in World Cup play. We can argue til the cows come home over this. I don't care how much anybody knows about soccer, Donovan should at least be included as a reserve on this team. There should be no questioning that!

He is capable of coming at least off the bench & scoring a winning goal. Plus, just his presence alone would be uplifting to the team. Did any of you'll see the interviews with the USA team after this announcement? It was obvious that most of them were shocked. They just didn't want to say anything against their coach.

They were shocked and rightfully should be. Donovan was a leader for this team even though Dempsey is captain. I'm just puzzled about this situation but I will no doubt continue to support this team no matter what. Doesn't mean I have to support Klinsmann though. He still has through 2018 left on his contract anyhow.

Again if the dude took time off and wasnt in form why would you put a player who isn't playing well on the team? You dont play favorites in the world cup unless they are Ronaldo or messi which landon is clearly not

Did you not see Howard's & Bradley's TV interviews about this? They surely looked to be puzzled about this decision. They didn't know what to say. They stuttered & just looked numb. Look it doesnt matter if youre the greatest usa soccer player ever if you are not in form and haven't been playing much why should he get an automatic bid? Hell he even said his body is shutting down, so you put him on the team when he was gonna be the 19th dude on the roster? Its a wasted spot especially if a younger player can get more experience. Even with Donovan I highly doubt the US makes it out anyway
