I might be wrong, but Dempsey up top by himself never seems to result in much of anything.

If he could manage a false 9 kind of thing, I would be less skeptical...but he needs more MF movement behind him for that.

He himself has admitted he is terrible up top as a lone striker. I don't feel like digging up the link, but he definitely isn't good with his back to the goal.

Well, who do you take off to put Wondo on? AJ isn't a "hold up" striker either. Put Bedoya up top? At least he has width and strength?

Wondo isn't a hold up striker either. Jozy was irreplaceable on this team. JK will have to tinker with the tactics to cater our play to our personnel.

I trust he will come up with a solution.

without Altidore providing a target...the fullbacks might become the most important part of the attack.

If they can overlap in midfield and be and stretch the defense a little it will allow to Bradley, Dempsey, and others to lurk and find space for shots.

It might seem crazy, and it surely won't be done, but I bet Jermaine Jones could be a target man...He can win aerials and make short drop off passes, especially backwards passes.

Really hoping to see Wondo in and get some action. Would also like to see Bradley step up a little more on offense, I was very surprised with his performance that first game.

Thats IF we can keep the ball and have some sort of possession. If they play like how they played against Ghana, Portugal and germany will whoop our ***

I'm pretty sure they will be playing for a draw, with the hope that they will luck out on a set piece at some point.

I don't think we should play for a draw. Portugal's back end is weakened and we need to get into some offensive flow.

Agreed. It's our turn to do something magical. Go win the group dang it

I hope Jurgen puts Clint up top instead of Wondo or Aron because I don't think they could play there. Also change the formation to compliment Aron, who will most likely start. We need the midfield to help on the attack so we can come at Portugals weakened back line.
