I know Kreb touched on this but that foul on Saka that should have been a red has resulted in Mike Dean being pulled off this weekend’s fixtures.

Small condolence for Arsenal fans. That red would have changed the game but it was also McArthur/McCarthy (can never remember who is who on Palace between those two lol) who was on the line and played Lacazette onside for the last minute equalizer.

I don't think enough people realized how close Saka was to having a very, very serious injury. He's absurdly lucky, and I do think it's a damn good reason for Arteta to be salty. First, it would've massively changed the game and second, one of his better, promising players nearly was taken out with a career changing injury.

What sucks is that it won't change anything. Dean will be back next week and commentators and pundits will make lighthearted comments about how "Oh he's so Mike Dean" and look at his funny interaction with Pep, etc.

The poor state of officiating in the league has been accepted while at the same time being slated, and it's just...frustrating.

Not looking forward to Villa's rotational fouling today. They got away with so much **** last year against us and their only way of nullifying our attack was to kick the **** out of your young players.

Still not 100% used to saying it, but it's a big match, as Arsenal are battling against a side fighting for a similar place at the end of the season. Considering we had no energy on Monday, I'm fearful for how drained the squad will look today.

Not sure why the lack of energy, though.

Arsenal note if you’re viewing today’s match: If you think we play Tierney as a false fullback, just wait until you see the forward runs Tavares will make.

Never met space behind he didn’t mind leaving open.

But really, I’m excited to see him play, he’s just very, very excited to get forward.

I think that’s your best and most balanced XI apart from Tierney at LB.

            This one is spicy already.

Villa just has to ride this out for a little and wait til Arsenal’s energy levels dip.

He’s had a few poor matches but to me Ødegaard is 100% in our best eleven.

Obligatory for this fixture: The Martinez transfer was great business by Arsenal.

Lacazette's reaction to that goal was amazing.

Saka has to finish that. It wasn’t a save, it was a miss.

                  Great pass by Tavares.

I've never seen that. Both players on the ball faking the free kick and then looking confused about who should take it.

I think you’re a much better and balanced side when you have two holders in the pivot instead of playing Partey alongside two 8’s in ESR and Odegaard.

I think Lokonga and Partey are the 2 pivots you need to go with.

If this is a penalty, the script says Emi saves it.

Auba is a terrible penalty taker, but thankfully a good finisher.

I still don’t think rebound shots should be allowed. Keeper saves? Goal kick.

Oh, I don’t want to see ESR or Ø deep. I think the best football we’ve played has been with Saka, ESR, and Ø in front of two two deeper mids .

My ideal is still Partey + Sambi in the middle, and those previously mentioned three in front of them.

Someone made an interesting point about that PK on twitter. The ref blew for HT and then went to VAR to check. He then awarded the PK which was saved and Auba scores the rebound.

Should the rebound have been allowed considering the HT whistle had already blown? I don’t know the rule but in other sports like basketball or even the NFL it’s an untimed shot/down.
