He just didn’t want it enough. Needed to be stronger.

He had already given the ball away IMO.

It doesn’t really hurt because you know it’s coming.

Also, way to back off and make yourself small, Ben.

Mikel gets to reuse his line about it being ‘a good point’ because it’s all we should’ve gotten from it.

I didn't get a chance to watch the match but it's really telling when a pretty much full strength Arsenal team can't even beat squads like Palace who were missing their best player.

Started well and then fell apart once Palace adapted and made changes. Almost like one manager was adapting to what he saw while the other was rigidly sticking to a system he believes is superior as long as every variable goes his way.

Palace have dropped 4 points in stoppage time this season.

Barely snatching a draw with a last minute goal mouth scramble against a Palace side without Zaha, and Arteta is still smug about it lmao.

Yeah that was a **** performance. If they can’t beat Palace at home, that’s a massive issue.

Palace should've been down to ten in the second half, so I can understandably accept some smugness or frustration due to that.

If Xhaka volleyed another player, he'd be off, no matter how little he meant to do so. Doesn't mean Arsenal play any better in the second half, though.

Arsenal has to play again on Friday. Short week for them.

Perfect opportunity for a win and for Arteta to continue to delay the inevitable. Or 'Oleing' is it's not essentially known as. Win just enough to save your job, but never enough to accomplish anything (since the FA Cup win, which was unarguably a string of solid performances solid coaching—those were the days).

Was it solid coaching or just a team that wants to park the bus and counter every game getting drawn into very attacking sides the whole way through?

Your players came through during that run for sure, but I don't think Arteta has ever shown anything resembling solid coaching.

I had a whole response typed out and then my phone refreshed randomly and it's gone, so here's my second go.

If you watched a lot of Arsenal before he came in, you know that what he was able to do in terms of turning a pile of **** into a structured, defensively sound team who could effectively counter attack was indeed solid coaching. There have been and are teams in the league who can not even do that, but Arteta turned a lost Arsenal squad into something that could make a cup run and I think that came down to the training ground.

His role at City was to primarily prepare the team for the upcoming opposition, and I think that showed in his early time at Arsenal, but I think that also means we've seen his current limit. Once he began to more fully implement his entire vision or philosophy, things have stuttered.

Considering before he arrived we really couldn't park any bus, or counter, I'd say he has coached them very solidly, but that doesn't mean he's a great manager or prepared to take them to the next level. I think we have seen his current limit, though, and when he's attempted to move the team beyond a defensively solid side who limits their mistakes he's in deeper waters than he currently should be.

Also, elephant in the room, I know you were always annoyed with the media comparing him to Lampard or them giving him the Pep rub or something like that. Reminder, although I'm sure you don't need it, the reason he's hung around is because the absurdly low expectations Arsenal have placed on themselves.

I know you dislike the idea of him being anointed or the plaudits he gets for no reason, but I think he showed early on that he has the ability to improve a team in a very specific areas, and those are the areas where he currently has the most experience. But, he in no way seems ready to be in sole control of how a team plays in all areas, and that's evident by watching Arsenal lumber throughout a match in the attacking third.
