I'm having problems winning faceoffs though, maybe I'm just not good enough at faceoffs in this game yet. Well, just thought I'd stop by and say hi and keep up the good work!
Thanks, man!!!

Glad to see people liking the sliders and chises...its especially cool when people pop up after a long time that have been there all along.

As far as the faceoffs go...

I too struggle some games losing 65-70 percent of the draws, then the next game I win 65%, then the next game its pretty even.

I, personally try to win most draws cleanly, instead of going for the tie up. Oh, and be sure to select your grip early when lining up at the faceoff.

Cheers.

Still playing .500 hockey I see, but at least the immortal Ty Conklin was in net for the victory. Tough loss against the Stanley Cup Champs, but I can't wait to see the Oshie play.

Halak Steals Win From Preds

(11-9-0) STL 1
(9-9-2) NSH 0
Shots STL 13 NSH 32
PP STL 1/1 NSH 0/3

In a game dominated by the Nashville Predators, Jaroslav Halak would be the difference.

The St. Louis goaltender recorded his first shutout as a St. Louis Blue in a 1-0 win despite Nashville holding advantages in shots (32-13) and recording more than double the attack time the Blues would in the affair.

"It feels good to get a shutout in a game where we were mostly outplayed. Hopefully the boys can play better though," said Halak taking a playful jab at his teammates.

"When you play the way he did, you can say what you want, can't you?", quipped TJ Oshie who scored the lone goal in the contest.

Conklin Shuts Down Stars

(12-9-0) STL 3
(9-10-2) DAL 0
Shots STL 33 DAL 27
PP STL 1/5 DAL 0/0

The St. Louis Blues goaltending tandem of Jaroslav Halak and Ty Conklin have combined for back-to-back shutouts after Conklin stopped all 27 shots the Stars would fire tonight.

The Blues have won 6 of their last 8 and would recieve goals from TJ Oshie (6th), Patrick Berglund (8th), and Jay McClement (5th) in the win.

"When you're getting solid goaltending, it really effects the whole confidence of the team. You feel like you can take change that you may otherwise think twice about. We're lucky to have these guys", noted Jay McClement post game.

Blues Sweep Set With Stars With OT Dramatics

(9-10-3) DAL 5
(13-9-0) STL 6
Shots DAL 40 STL 29
PP DAL 3/6 STL 1/3

The struggling Brad Boyes would tally the OT winner tonight after a wild affair with the Stars.

The Blues would take a 1-0 lead into the second period where the Stars would score 4 goals. Two of the Stars goals came on a five minute powerplay after TJ Oshie was ejected from the game for demolishing Stephan Robidas into the boards. One of the goals would be reviewed when Jamie Benn would knock a puck out of mid-air and into the net. The goal was deemed legal and pushed the Stars ahead 4-3.

The Blues would get 2 goals and an assist from Andy McDonald while Vladimir Tarasenko (4th), David Perron (5th), and Jay McClement (6th) would also get on the board before Boyes would dent the twine in OT.

OT has been kind to St. Louis this season as they remain undefeated in the extra frame this season.

Backes Delivers OT Blow To Hawks In Wild Affair

(14-9-0) STL 4
(12-12-3) CHI 3
Shots STL 27 CHI 33
PP STL 1/5 CHI 2/2

David Backes, who has struggled remarkably this season, is breathing a little easier after notching the game-winning goal in overtime tonight for the Blues.

Tonights game was one for the highlight reel.

Going into the last minute of play in regulation tied 2-2, Andy McDonald was hauled down on a breakaway and awarded the penaltly shot by Paul Devorski. McDonald would bury the shot and give the Blues what seemed to be the game-winning goal.

That was until David Bolland, with the Marty Turco on the bench, would wire a wrister through a screen with 16 seconds remaining to send the game into OT to the tune of "Chelsea Dagger".

"You never know whats going to happen out there. Thats why this game is so great," said St. Louis head coach Davis Payne after his squad wrapped up yet another OT win on the season.

Marian Hossa would score twice for the Hawks while David Perron, Andy McDonald, and Patrick Berglund would add goals for the Blues.

League Notes

The Montreal Canadiens are without regret on the subject of Jaroslav Halak as Carey Price is competing with Columbus' Steve Mason for the early Vezina honors...

The Washington Capitals are off to a slow start, along with superstar Alexander Ovechkin who has just 10 goals on the young season...

The Calgary Flames won 15 of their first 16 games and sit at the top of the Western Conference as 5 Flames are in the top 10 for assists in the NHL.

The Detroit Redwings have struggled mightily out of the gates posting just 6 wins in the seasons first quarter as the Wings are struggling to find themselves early on this season.
