Re: Madden 19 What happened to the physics?

I just saw my first really bad case last night, I'll post a clip later. I ran a stretch play with McKinnon and got to the outside, the CB stood me up and the DE closed in and delivered a full speed, vicious hit to me (sandwiching McKinnon between the CB and DE) and nothing happened; THEN I manage to wiggle away from the original tackle from the CB for a few more yards. Not good.

I've been waiting for proper gang tackles in Madden for 15 years, and they still look robotic. Would be cool to run up the middle, and not only get tackled by one player.

You can have your opinion and by all means post your evidence to support your stance if you would like.

But one way or the other. The above elitist attitude from you that we've seen all of a sudden stops now.

In regards to people saying that they see defenders jumping on the pile like it's a new animation. That video is Madden 16

Step? Back to the old scripted old stuff is more than a step.

I played a madden 17 OOTB game as soon as I finish a madden 19 game to see if maybe I was idealizing m17 tackling and the difference is night and day. I'm actually doing replays from plays to see the tackles. Players do have a interaction when the ball carrier is already in a animation tackle. We complained about suction blocking now we have suction tackling.

What bothers me is that they were going on the right track for the last couple of years.

They added qb inaccuracies. CPU running. Better CPU zones. Qb scrambling. Physics.

All these were none exist before madden 2015. Then 2016 and 2017 were great. Then the fall started.

Hopefully this is a collaterals from frostbite engine and not a business decision.

Really this is the biggest let down from 2019. I guess this is what happen when all the focus is on esports and creative directors are moving away from the project.

Honestly I feel I have to play madden 2019 just because I already bought it. But when things settle I will go back to 2017 OOTB sadly. Everything feels so much natural there. 2019 is artificial and scripted game.

Re: Madden 19 What happened to the physics?

I've used Barkley, Gurley, McCoy and David Johnson(all elite RB) and it's so damn frustrating that an overall 77 cornerback with 65 tackling can easily take down those guys in the open field........I don't want to put the game on on Pro or rookie but damn EA......Elite RB's do not get tackled in the open field by overall 70 DB's.

Re: Madden 19 What happened to the physics?

I agree with the people saying gang tackling is in the game this year (of course they wouldnt just completely remove it) but also agree with those saying its not as dynamic as years past. The last few maddens I would often have WOW moments during tackles as guys would converge and alter the tackling animation, sometimes with humorous results thanks to the physics. I appreciated it because it made things seem more organic. haven't seen that much this year.
