The REALLY need to rewrite the game's physics engine. We're still operating on the same physics engine they had back in the Xbox and PS1 days and it shows. They've put bandaids on it for over decade now but it's time to scrap it.

Physics engines are a dime a dozen now. The tethering effect of the game has always had the same problems and same quirks with ridiculous missed blocks and odd decision making, op animations that aren't effectively broken, and passing that lacks variety.

The only other thing that needs to happen is a significantly updated CPU AI to offer a greater challenge to us lowly franchise players.

Possibly some dynamic player model stuff like untucked jersey's, socks pulled down, etc. during the game.

Madden needs to start with New Code in some areas. With the Leap in technology for physics and cpu they will limit themselves using the same code.

What should be expected is dynamic weather - Being able to choose the weather hot or cold, conditions, and the season

Take a look at how Forza 4 did it. Light snow games shouldn't be full of snow only a light mist.

Customizable Camera -Self Explained

Advanced A.I. - CPU tendencies and reactions should be next level if programmed correctly

Advanced physics

Improved sideline and crowd detail

Improved environments and atmosphere

Improved presentation

it's not going to mean much until it drops support for ps4/xbone, because they have to develop for the least powerful version first.

Why can't we get a true physics based game with no scripted AI? If they focus on MUT this generation like PS4/Xbox I hope they lose their fan base enough for the NFL to dump them. If they truly care about their fan base then its time to step or step away!

Not really. Capabilities can scale to meet the hardware, PC gaming has done this for decades.

Generally last gen games get a roster update and nothing more once the first fully developed next gen game comes out. This happens with every Madden series to date once a next gen console comes out. They usually get left behind in terms of features and improvements. Here's a fun fact though. There was only a 5 year gap in between the last version of Madden on ps2 [madden 12) and the last version of Madden on ps3. [Madden 17] The last few years of each was literally just a roster update.
