It's definitely an odd situation of what's being left out. I'm not going to complain over and over and make a thread about how I hate EA, but my one time here and now complaint is that in past years I have enjoyed many of the features -specifically the ability to edit and tweak rosters that are now absent and am upset that I am losing pieces of the overall package that boosted my enjoyment. But as TJ said, who knows why they would care if we use their rosters or not.

EDIT: Although I'm not holding my breath maybe there is a chance that some programming guru out there will be able to rig up and editor ala FlyingFinn with some of the 2k sports titles

It's about as stupid as them offering Alternate Jerseys on the Marketplace for a price. Just like Alternate Jerseys, "updated" rosters are just another option for gamers.

jesus christ. I dont know why i do it to myself for some reason i thought there would be no way they would leave editing out alltogether this year like they did last year. I will still give the game a chance because i have no alternative

I don't buy that. Where would you get that idea? The day we have to pay for roster updates is the day EA sinks into the ground. Or, the day I organize a crew of pissed off gamers to help sink it into the ground.
