BE Honest- NCAA 08 is better and you Know It!

Both are great and am enjoying both equally. Although NCAA interests me more right now because I have a very nice recruiting class coming in.

To me, Madden wins hands down. I agree with the poster that feels that NCAA seems like a 70% build of Madden.

The slider adjustments JUST to make the AI mount a competent running game, even with star runners, are pretty severe... generally requiring your defense to have the IQ of Pop Warner players, and tackling ability to match.

Where's the re-tooled run-blocking Madden has?

And then there's that atrocity known as the NCAA 08 passing game. Can someone explain to me what happened to precision passing and lob/bullet controls? These ball trajectories are simply assinine (and - surprisingly- Madden 08 doesn't have this issue for the most part.)

Couple the ball trajectories and the shoddy, seemingly non-existent pass controls with the Kung Fu Cinema defender play when it comes to LBs & CBs tipping passes that are 12 feet off the ground as it is.. and we have a problem. (Madden's LBs/CBs generally play more within the realm of human reality in terms of their ability to jump).

Ah, then we come to the depth charts and roster screens.

Football-wise, and "closer to reality-wise", I think this one's a no brainer. NCAA needed a few more months. I think the people who like it better are those who like college football better than pro football to begin with. I simply don't see how "football-wise" or "sim-wise", NCAA comes close to Madden 08.

That's not to say Madden isn't without its problems, but I'm just saying I see way more of them on the NCAA side. Lots of stuff that makes no sense.. especially the AI run game..and the human "controlled" passing.

I think Madden is better on the field (both have their problems) but Dynasty Mode will probably have me going back to NCAA after a couple of seasons on Madden. I will probably play Madden online more and NCAA offline.

I enjoy both.

I think the lighting and atmosphere of the NCAA game are superior. When playing an afternoon game it actually get's gradually darker and the colors seem to justy look "dusk" like. Then the lights come on and evening sets in. Really gives you the feeling of time passsing. Add to it when you watch your hilights from earlier in the game the lighting changes to reflect this.

In Madden the passage of time is far less noticable and the replays from earlier in the game all show the same lighting as your current play. Plus, you cannot save them. Why take away this feature? I don't get EA at all.

Still, I think in gameplay it is too close to call. Comes down to NFL vs college fan I guess.
