ahh that video just further shows how Culpepper was a product of Moss. With Moss, Culpepper was considered one of the best QBs in the league. Once he lost Moss, his career went further and further downhill.

Bolt is the fastest in the 100, not the 40 yard dash. Combine times are junk: NFL network used superimposed video to compare different guys running the 40 and the video showed a different order of finishers than the "official" results. Bet that feature isn't allowed to be used next year.

Until the NFL decides to use full automatic timing, the times are a joke.

Some Football players accelerate faster than most world-class sprinters, that's the way it is.

World class sprinters splits work like this: at about 45-48 yards is around 1/2 the total time for a 100m. 9.58 for the hundred for someone like Bolt (who maintains his speed for a little longer) means 45 yard split of around 4.8 or so, meaning 40 yard split of around 4.55. Take out the reaction time and you have 4.37 or so and take out human error in combine testing and you get at best 4.18, more likely 4.2-4.25.

This "argument" is not an argument. The science doesn't lie.

3.75 is just converting the time like its an average, but its not. That doesn't take into account acceleration or deceleration and its not scientific.

Re: Speed Threshold Talk!!!!!!!!

Alright I've seen conflicting info on this. I play on SLOW, can someone confirm whether moving the threshold lower gives a greater gap between fast and slow players? Does anyone truly know?

Re: Speed Threshold Talk!!!!!!!!

I bet many of you guys don't know that Asafa Powell typically has a better start than Bolt. Many experts think Powell has the best short acceleration from the start than any other sprinter in the world. He might beat Bolt in the 40-yard dash on most days.

Ben Johnson also had an amazingly quick start.

Re: Speed Threshold Talk!!!!!!!!

it doesnt matter what game speed you play on... lower the threshold, larger gap between fast and slow... high threshold is obviously the opposite

game speed effects player speed too... but it does not effect what the threshold actually does, which is what I was talking about

try to take what I say in context next time

Re: Speed Threshold Talk!!!!!!!!

Can we PLEASE stop talking about track & field in this thread? It has nothing to do with the topic -- which is the speed threshold slider in Madden 10, in case anyone had forgotten.
