Re: Speed Threshold Talk!!!!!!!!

trying to get players to play as fast as their 40 times is unrealistic, the game doesnt play that fast... however using 40 times to get players to play proportionally the same speed as one another is perfectly legit

if you're going to use 40 times to try to make it realistic, this seems like the only logical way to do it... its not the actual times that matter, rather how they compare to every other persons 40 time

if Player A and B are a half a second apart, and slow speed runs at 75% what players run their 40's at, the threshold should be set so both players run 75% their 40 times... if you put threshold at 0 that will not be the case (the faster player will run more like 80% their real life speed and the slower will run more like 70%... creating unrealistic seperation)... and if you put the threshold at 100, the opposite happens

Yeah I don't think he would hit below 4 seconds, but I'd bet he'd be under 4.2.

how slow do you think Bolt is?

If CJ is running 4.2, don't you think the fastest person in history can run better than 4.0?

Bolt is definitely known for his acceleration. He won the race recently in Berlin in the first 15 metres.....

Nah, most of the time it's not his acceleration. He's actually considered to have one of the slower reaction times in track. He just has a higher top speed and takes longer strides.

Like I said, I'd say he'd be around 4.15-4.2

ESPN quotes his first forty at 3.82. NBC quotes it as 3.75.

Dude, he has the fastest acceleration on the track. Did you not watch the 100m?

First 15 M. He's in the lead....

Ok, and many other races he's pulled ahead in the middle of the race. Your point?

And I don't really believe ESPN. I believe he'd have the fastest 40 yard dash in NFL history, but I don't really believe he could hit anywhere near 3.8

You are basing your entire argument off an eroneous NBC report which is simply opposite every other report out there on this stuff. CJ ran a 4.28 at the combine. But the combine is flawed because it's not electronically timed with the gun which is why his true 40 yard dash is probably closer to 4.50 if he ran it in track.

Usain Bolt never ran under 4.0 in the first 40 yard dash. Not even close. No sprinter in history has run under 4.3 when measured. Read this article (and there are quite a few accurate articles on this subject) which explains this. Bolt might be able to break 4.0 the way the NFL measures 40 yard dashes which is different from the way track accurately records theirs.

Re: Speed Threshold Talk!!!!!!!!

game is a sprint-fest with threshold at ANYTHING lower than 75 on slow/very slow. Also since adaptive AI just flat out does not work or is not turned "on", you have to HELP the AI as much as you can.

I like the setting i am using now and i am getting very realistic games. I am happy where i am at currently.
