They tried that already & it didn't work. MVP is DEAD & lets leave it that way. If people want to play VP go get yourselves an xbox or pick-it up for the PC

Re: The MLB 2K9 Developers Are Listening

When I was a little boy my mother and father told me "If you want someone to respect you and listen to what you have to say do it in a respectful manner."

So why is it that some on this board think it's ok to act like jerks when trying to get a point across to the developers? If you want the guys from 2k to take your opinion and concerns with with the game seriously why not do it in a respectful manner?

After all these years to get the guys who make the games to come to the boards and listen to what we want to have that ruined by people acting like children would be a shame.

Yes I agree. 750 posts later and you still have a subpar baseball game. How's it been working for you?

Why do some people on this board feel they have to tiptoe around these developers??? Money is changing hands here. This is not telling your father that his Thanksgiving turkey tastes like crap. How many more years are you willing to be "respectful" .

Your daddy told you to treat people with respect if you want them to listen?? How sweet......

RESPECT is not a birthright. It is EARNED.

This is not how we conduct business in these parts. Hopefully you'll be around long enough to see how the community interacts with developers & vica-versa

You're right...and this is something you yourself should remember when looking for anyone to respect what you say.

Give respect to earn it is a general way of thinking of this. If you want the game to be better, and are given a forum to voice your ideas, why not do that? Add something constructive. Talk about what you want, how you'd like it implemented, etc.

Just because someone needs to earn respect doesn't mean they deserve blatent DISrespect. Just tossing that out there buddy

Your point is a valid one. However, I have been on 2k's site for quite some time and been respectful as have many others who have spent their money on 2k's baseball games. The games are still poor and we have gotten nowhere. What , pray tell, do you recommend? We continue to try and coax them gently into creating a decent game? I thought Ben Brinkman was gonna save the day. I could tell in 2k8 the gameplay was heading towards MVPesque despite the fact it was laggy and very rough around the edges. But Benny is history.

I will be the first person on here to sing the praises of 2k9 if its good. I just feel that with MVP and High Heat and the Show out there, do they really need to come to forums and glean information from us? Really???? The nuts and bolts of quality baseball games are out there, use them. They already took the swingstick from EA's NCAA baseball. Keep going...

I'll try to be less rude in my posts, however, one must understand I am not concerned with having a rapport with people on this site. I have 3 kids, am very busy, love baseball (one of a few Canucks who do) and am on here to display, like many others, my displeasure with the road 2k has taken.

Re: The MLB 2K9 Developers Are Listening

This is perhaps the smallest thing in the world, but I would at least like an option for us to remove it ourselves.

Anyway, you know when there's a display of OUT, SAFE, STRIKE, BALL, FOUL, etc. on screen when those things happen? I mean I can't remember for sure which ones are on screen and which ones aren't anymore these days because I haven't played the recent games enough. Anyway, I don't like them, not at all. I'm sure many people don't care, but if they don't then what's the harm in removing them for those who do care? Or at least make it an option?

I don't like to be reminded that I'm playing a video game when I'm playing, so I also always turn off names under players (hopefully you kept that option), the fly ball landing target, strike zones, etc. Bringing the text up just makes me feel like I'm back in the arcade.

I agree, Blzer. It's not a HUGE deal for me, but seeing words on the screen is unnecessary and is a distinct reminder that you're playing a game.
