Re: Your 2011 Chicago Cubs

A guy I know offered me a chance to get in on season tickets. Decided to go in on 5 games.

Cubs claimed Max Ramirez off waivers from Boston today. I like this move and him being a possible back up to Soto.

Archer will be a starter in the big leagues by '13.

Chirinos could have been the backup for the Cubs this coming season.

Guyer will be a decent everyday outfielder in the bigs by '13.

Cubs farm system is empty now with the exception of Brett Jackson.
What is there to hate about for this trade? Garza is a proven pitcher who can pitch WELL in the AL east. Archer could or could not be great, but honestly I'd rather have Garza. Plus we do have potential young pitchers in Diamond and Carpenter. Look at all of our other prospects that were supposed to be good. Lee wouldn't fit anywhere in the club for years to come considering we have Castro. Fuld is a hard nosed player who is getting into his thirties, and won't ever fit into the outfield. Chirinos is pretty much the same age as Soto. How could you accurately say anyone will be in the majors in 2 years?

I agree with all these points

Gorzy has been traded to Washington for three prospects. I like this move, considering two of those prospects (Michael Burgess, AJ Morris) were pretty high draft picks. However, no currently and probably will not have a lefty in the rotation. Kinda of scary.

I don't think it was a good move. I feel Hendry moved him for no reason. He is a solid left handed pitcher and would have fit fine in the 5th spot. I hate giving the 5th spot to either of the two young relief pitchers.

Cubs added Augie Ojeda, Braden Looper, and Todd Wellmeyer.

When's Jeff Blauser and Damon Berryhill coming in?

I've always loved Augie Ojeda.

I'm a Cubs, Bucks, and Bucs fan in MLB, NBA, and the NFL. The Cubs are starting to remind me of the Bucks and Bucs now. A lot of young talent. A team that people will want to get behind because if they make noise this year, it will catch pretty much everybody by surprise.
