An error filled spring training continues with Carlos Silva fighting one of his teammates in the dugout during today's game

Silva is bound to lose a starting job, and quite possibly a spot on this roster.

Let's just hope they get all these silly errors out of the way now, and hard feelings through in the first week or two, and by opening day everything is fine.

Re: Your 2011 Chicago Cubs

Silva must feel a little too over-confident after he guaranteed a roation spot for himself. Two bad outings already. It's just spring but I'm just saying, he isn't looking good.

But one guy who's looking good is DJ LeMahieu might be our 2nd baseman in another year or two the way he hit last year and is playing this spring.

Re: Your 2011 Chicago Cubs

nice...had a post on here a year or so ago that went into more detail, but this is still good.

makes you wonder if he could/would succeed as a starter. frankly, i don't see why not.

Edit: My bad...don't have any idea how this post ended up here...meant for the thread on Mariano lol

Re: Your 2011 Chicago Cubs

Whats your hopes of getting Pujols yes, no unsure? I'm all for it if the Cubs can get the best player in all of baseball (possibly of all time) away from their rival team heck yeah. Thats instant production, and great defense. I also heard that he was booed by a lot of his hometown Card fans last year because he attended the Glen Beck rally to receive an award for his work in the community. Maybe that kind of stuck with him? I don't think I would boo anyone that attended a rally to receive an award for good work in the community no matter what political affiliation.

Re: Your 2011 Chicago Cubs

I would try to get Pujols to sign to a 5 year deal at about 25 million per year. If he is still playing well and healthy after those 5 years i would look at signing him for longer.
