Eric Thames has gotten passed that "in-between" confusion at the plate and has been rakin' lately.

I think the lineup needs a shakeup. Kelly Johnson strikes out wayyy too much as a number 2 hitter. Yeah he still gets on base, but I'd like to see his power and RBI potential at another spot.

And thoughts on Adam Lind? He looks absolutely lost. Bring up Cooper please

Morrow looks awesome. Still think Ricky is a little off so far but he's 4-0. Guys, the staff looks good 1-4 and I like what I see out of Hutch.

Lind is done though. How we can trot out a. 600 ops first baseman is beyond me.

They should move Lind around in the batting lineup and see how he does. Put him anywhere from 6-9.

lol, it's like looking in a mirrow.

Re: Toronto Blue Jays 2012

Hoping the Jays keep this recent success going. It's actually pretty amazing that they are four games over .500 with pretty much no production from their third and fourth hitters. 'Pen needs to get better, 3-4 spots in the order need to improve. I'm happy with the production and improvement trajectory from the rest of the lineup.

Brett Lawrie fires me up too Xavier. Really encouraging to see him getting through rough spots with his hitting by beating out ground balls to first. His level of defensive play and maturity at the plate at only 22 is exciting—especially considering he has been pitched to completely differently this season and has adapted quickly.

One last note. His character seems a bit put on at times, but I like Greg Zaun's role with the broadcast team. I think he has potential to go to a bigger network at some point.

Re: Toronto Blue Jays 2012

If the starting pitching can keep up with what Farrell wants (mainly pitching 6 innings at least and 7 innings preferably) than I think the pen will sort itself out while the hitting comes around. If they can keep producing the way they are by not allowing too many runs than the Jays should be in it every time out.

I really love Brett Lawrie's play as well. I was a little skeptical with all the "he's the real team leader" stuff during spring training but it seems to be true. He's a sparkplug and someone I can easily see hitting in the 3 or 5 spot in the lineup in the near future one day.

I agree Gregg Zaun is solid in an analyst role but he's far more suited to TV than radio as i've heard some of his radio work which was....atrocious.

I might be the only one but after watching Mo blow an ACL in fielding practice I hold my breath on average about 3 times every game watching Lawrie do something crazy like dive head first into the stands. I love the passion he plays with because it is infectious and he truly loves the game but he needs to be careful.

Re: Toronto Blue Jays 2012

What's the general consensus on the Vladdy minor league contract?

My first impression was: SWEET! then my mind immediately went to "this has to be a first move towards some kind of trade soon."

Looks like my thought process may have some legitimacy as there's a report from Ken Rosenthal that AA is inquiring about Cole Hamels and Shane Victorino. I'm not so hot on Victorino but I think Hamels would be a good fit in the Jays rotation or to be flipped over in some deal.
