Lind tore it up in 2009, what happened, besides getting paid?

He is even struggling at 1B, already has more errors this year than all of last.

Re: Toronto Blue Jays 2012

Glad to see Lind's days with the Jays are probably over. Nothing against him personally, but as a hitter he has mostly been a hole in the lineup for a solid part of three seasons.

I hope the Jays can finally get some momentum going after NYY, but I'm wary. It looks like they've changed their approach at the plate a bit/early season timing issues are coming around, and I'm happy to see Farrell shuffling the lineup around instead of letting it come around on its own. The Colby Rasmus project looks good at times, but not right now.

I'm really hoping for two out of three against the Mets with the type of starting pitching they're sending to the hill. If the bats go cold against Miguel freaking Bautista tonight I will cry.

Another thing i'm glad to see Farrell doing is giving Rajai Davis more playing time. Last night he made two spectacular defensive plays that I don't think Eric Thames could've even come close to doing so even if his bat isn't the greatest he's a defensive upgrade. Of course, this doesn't mean Thames is a bench player but he'll be used more in situations where he can succeed.

Re: Toronto Blue Jays 2012

Sad to see Lind be put on waivers. They were talking about the Jays' core players from a few years ago and how every one of them flamed out. Lind, Hill, Wells, and Rios. They were all JP guys with the exception of Wells. There were other guys that Ricciardi had a man crush on that went down the tubes like Eric Hinske and of course the numerous older guys he brought in with big money contracts that didn't pan out.

It's interesting how just about every major player brought up in the Ricciardi regime save for Romero, Arencibia and the slew of young arms that came in the latter period of his regime. Other than Arencibia all the position players were crap who never lived up to expectations.

I just thought that was worth mentioning.

Re: Toronto Blue Jays 2012

Very true about Ricciardi's position players. It really is remarkable how substantially those guys declined over such a short period. You would think one of them could at least maintain their top end production.

Hope a sweep happens tomorrow. The schedule coming up is a bit of a murder's row—@ Tampa, @ Texas, and the Jay slaying Orioles.

Wonder what would've happened had we taken Tulo instead of Romero (like we should've done ).

I think Russ Adams was taken ahead of a guy who's a superstar right now. Unfortunately I can't remember for sure but I remember when Adams was around there was a lot of grousing from the fans.
