I love the passion Lawrie plays with but I hate when he loses his cool, both diving for balls into the stands and throwing things at umps.

That fan throwing the drink is an idiot.

I'm a little more concerned about his reckless play in the field but I think he'll eventually outgrow that, hopefully before he sustains a major injury. What happened last night was refreshing in a lot of ways. As long as he doesn't make it a habit to go loco like that than I think it's all good. The Blue Jays haven't had a player with that kind of fire and passion burning in them since Raul Mondesi in some respects (tho he later turned into a bit of a bum) Last night Lawrie was channeling his inner George Bell.

Re: Toronto Blue Jays 2012

Wow how surprising is this? Adam Lind has been sent down to Vegas! You know, I kinda have the feeling that Lind won't be with the team next year and Travis D'arnaud will be on the big club full time either as a 1B or catcher and JP Arencibia becomes a 1B.

Either way, from what I hear from scouts they're comparing D'arnaud to Russell Martin in his Dodger days and saying he should be in the majors.

Not very. Lind was the worst full-time 1B/DH in the AL in 2010 and 2011. His bat might play better in the NL, particularly if he's platooned.

Looking forward to seeing D'Arnaud with the Jays. Arencibia either stays behind the plate or is dealt. His bat isn't big enough to play 1B on a regular basis.

Ive heard Travis defense is a bit shaky. There's no rush. JP has been great since the Kansas City series

I meant surprising considering how long he's been on the club without having to do a stint in AAA. I agree with you about D'Arnaud being ready for next year and not now. I've been thinking that the Jays may want to package Lind and Arencibia together in some kind of trade before the start of next season so I wouldn't be shocked if something like that happens.

Either way, seems like things are in flux right now in Blue Jay Land. Also, Lawrie rescinded his appeal today so he can miss the Mets series and be back for the TB series afterwards.
