Re: How many games do you play per season in Franchise?

In 14 i have played every game, played about 120-130 games..I use QC on "dead" games of the series or if i really wanted to play a game but i am pushed for time.
Still playing the odd game but have mostly been playing RTtS lately.
I might play a few and sim the rest to the post season when 15 arrives and finish off the season.
Got through about a season and a half in 13 but used sim on dead games.

I may need to play more QC games or sim a few not just to get thru a season but i find it easier to draw walks in qc,in my 14 season i am over 100 behind the 2nd last team in walks.

Re: How many games do you play per season in Franchise?

Any baseball game I have ever played, I played all the games. In the final year of 2k I played around 140 deep, but that was because I lost a save that put me back 20 games, so I lost interest trying to play them again on the backup save as it just did not feel the same.

Last year my buddy and I played the Show for the first time in ages. We played all 162 and the playoffs in an online franchise. Decided we didn't like the online franchise and ended it. We started an offline franchise that we emailed back and forth with a shared account and we got past the all star break, but never actually finished that one as we lost interest in it because we were playing the year all over again.

Right now I am playing the 1998 season while waiting on 15. I will play all games and the playoff games. Once OSFM are out we'll start our regular franchise and this one will be offline and will be one we plan to continue through the years.

Every game, no quick counts either, takes the fun out of pitching IMO. The most I've played was 2 1/2 years in franchise mode when I got my first copy of the show in 2009

I usually play the 162 game schedule and skip the spring training. But with The Show 15' I playing the spring training too. It has been about 7 years since I played meaningful spring training games. With this ability to transfer our 14' franchise file save to 15'. I can see how the guys I drafted can grow with my ball club. Can't wait!

Re: How many games do you play per season in Franchise?

The most fun I've had playing The Show involved the following:

2-game series
Play the 1st, sim the 2nd

3-game series
Play the 1st, sim the 2nd
  • If I win the 1st and win the simmed 2nd game OR lose the first and lose the simmed 2nd, sim the 3rd
  • If I split the first two games of the series, I play the 3rd

4-game series
Play the 1st, sim the 2nd
  • If I win the 1st and win the simmed 2nd game OR lose the first and lose the simmed 2nd, sim the 3rd
  • If all 3 games are either won or lost, I sim the 4th
  • If both teams have won at least one game out of 3, I play the 4th

This process allowed me to have some fun during the season. Of course, I lost in game 7 of the NLCS and threw a monumental temper tantrum

I think I'm going to do this again this year.

Re: How many games do you play per season in Franchise?

I play every pitch of every regular season and post season game, if I make it. I usually only play 10-15 spring training games depending on my rosters. This year, knowing that I will be able to carry over my franchise, I just finished spring training in 2016.

No quick counts. If there was an option to play with QC for just batting then I would probably give it a try though.

That's a very interesting way to go about it. I may actually have to change up my formula of playing every single game this year. I already have a 3 year old son and am expecting a baby girl in June, so my game time is going to be cut back quite a bit I think. This could be a good way to be able to get through the season. I just would hate not to be able to play every game, but obviously family is more important.
