I never got this. I want to play the game and if pitching is just to hit a button and the rating of a player will determine the posibility of the outcome why pick up the controller?

If that is such a sim thing then why not the same for hitting and just not field and let the cpu field.
You obviously dont understand how classic pitching and timing hitting works over the course of a season. If i wanted to dominate every game with a 70ovr pitcher id switch to meter and if i wanted to hit .400 with jean segura id switch to zone until i got up to legend difficulty and couldnt get a hit with anybody to save my life...... just a thought from personal experience of being dominant on both dude. BTW classic pitching and timing hitting dominates zone hitting and meter pitching in terms of realty. Dont bash other peoples settings until you've reigned supreme over them all.

I used to play with classic liked it my only problem was I didn't really feel like I was playing, like I had no input.
Made the switch to meter and really like it.
I think meter takes ratings and user input into account, kind off a mixture of both worlds. Still have to some more training though.
Still pretty new to mlb the show
I agree with you 100%...

That's what timing is and quite a few people like it.

It's not for me but it is already an option in the game for hitting.

Pulse vs analog vs meter vs classic?

This thread has persuaded me to give classic and timing a go. I have been meter/pulse pure analog/zone guy the past few years and I am looking for a change.

Re: Pulse vs analog vs meter vs classic?

I usually just press the button and go with classic.

As far as using classic, ratings are part of it. But I get tired of looking at a meter more than 100 times a game every game for 162 games. Classic alleviates that. And it keeps my screen clutter free.

It's really not any different than passing in Madden. You aim, you press a button to throw it to that spot. And it's even more of a challenge now that I've turned off the pitching cursor.
