Great to hear from you Carl. I'm sure your 78-79 roster will be great and provide us with now 2 great 70's rosters. I still remember your Madden 1972 roster which was some of the most fun I've ever had with sports video games. Keep us posted.

I know stats are widely available on the web, but if you need any scouting reports on players or tendancies let me know. I've compiled notes from guides and online on most of the players.
Carl, have you jumped ship? Are you on ps4 now? I am thinking of purchasing one in a month...waiting for more holiday sale prices. lol

Re: 1979-80 NBA Season Roster: Work in Progress

Just an update: Seven teams down. In addition to the Sonics, Lakers, Celtics, and Sixers, I have completed:

Atlanta Hawks: Believe it or not, the best all around player on this team - a team that not only made the playoffs but the conference finals - was third year center Tree Rollins (81), a dominant low post defender and shot blocker; the Hawks frontcourt also includes Dan Roundfield (78), giving them an especially tough defensive bigman pair. Scoring comes principally from forward John Drew (72) and guard "Fast Eddie" Johnson (75). Playmaking is a problem, with 5'8" Charlie Criss (64) the nominal starting point guard.

Houston Rockets: This is a one-man show, as everything revolves around Hall of Famer Moses Malone (84), here just 24 and not yet even in his prime. His sidekick is 5'9" shooting guard Calvin Murphy (75), but the rest of the roster is relatively weak, revolving around fading forwards Rudy Tomjanovich (69) and Rick Barry (68) for major contributions.

Phoenix Suns: This is a team with a surprisingly versatile and balanced lineup: Paul Westphal (81), Walter Davis (77), Alvan Adams (77), and Truck Robinson (70) are the most prominent names, but they'll also get contributions from point guards Don Buse (67) and Kyle Macy (67), along with veteran defensive specialist Gar Heard (64).

---

Starting the Portland Trailblazers next.

And Carl, I'll take you up on anything you have - I'll send you a PM.

Out of curiosity, do you have these teams in the current team slot or in the classic team spot (when available)? Ex... are Lakers in the 86-87 team or the current 15-16 team slot?

At the moment, they're all in the current team slot. It's just easier to move players around from there, add created players to rosters (since you can't add them directly to the classic teams, and so on). It also lets me compare the final ratings of each time more easily on a running basis.

Eventually I will at minimum transfer the Sonics roster over to that classic team slot, but I'm not sure about the rest.

Personally I'm hoping you leave them there (like your 90-91 roster from last year). I find it hard playing when I see one team in short shorts and another in current long shorts!!! Maybe one day we will be able to edit short length? Plus I find that the pre game presentation in far better when the "current" team is used... at least in 15. Have not tried in 16 yet. Looking forward to this set... one of my favorite NBA seasons of all time. I was a huge Magic fan. Thanks for all the hard work.

How you edited "classic player" age? For example Jabbar has 32, originally had 39..
