I'm just going to list out each individual badge that I think the game can do without and give my reasons why I think it shouldn't be in the game.
Corner Specialist- Why is there a badge that boosts shot accuracy from both corners on the 3 point line when there is already a
HOT SPOT system in this game? Having all of these mechanics that boost shooting be stackable made the 3 point rating not even matter in this game.
Green releases meaning automatic make played a factor in this, but even with the easiest jump shot bases and quickest releases on the non-shooting archetypes,
NONE of them would shoot a shot from any other spot. My own teammate has told me that he only shoots 3s in the corner with his slasher because those are the only spots where he can get green releases.
The only difference I can see between the two corners and the other spots behind the 3 point line, is the stacking of
HOT SPOTS, the
CATCH AND SHOOT badge, and
CORNER SPECIALIST. Boost on top of boost on top of another boost. The badge isn't needed.
Posterizer- Why is this badge needed when there is a
CONTACT DUNK rating? You don't need this badge to dunk on people if you have the dunk and contact dunk ratings to equip the contact dunk dunk packages on your player. I've gotten contact dunks with NBA players that have sub 80 dunk and sub 40 contact dunk in this game(
without the posterizer badge at all), you can't tell me that Slashers with 90+ dunk ratings need to be boosted in this category.
76 rated Gold Michael Kidd-Gilchrist just punched it on Lamarcus Aldridge with no slashing badges. Look at his dunk ratings, they're not even good.

Catch and Shoot-
Difficult Shots-
Mid-Range/Deep-Range Deadeye- There are ratings for ALL of these areas of shooting.
There are open shot ratings for Catch and Shoot.
There are off the dribble shot ratings for Difficult shots.
There are contested shot ratings for the Deadeyes.
You shouldn't have to stack boosts on top of boosts to make these shots. If there is a rating for the specific situation then the rating alone should determine the success of the shot.
*Limitless Range should be a personality badge. Having every Sharpshooter/Stretch Big spot up so far behind the line that you can't even see them on 2k cam is ridiculous. What makes it worse is that they can shoot 70% from Curry range because they have a stack(Catch and Shoot) on top of a stack(Hot Spot) on top of a stack(Limitless Range) on top of another gosh darn stack(Dimer)....
This is my basic train of thought concerning this badge situation. You can apply it to more badges but my main problem is with these 6 because I believe they contributed mostly to the game this year playing arcadey. Some other badges off the top of my head that fit this criteria are:
Dimer- Pass ratings
Ankle Breaker- Ball handling rating
Pick Pocket- Steal rating + There is
NO rating to counter this badge
etc. etc.
