So I'm forced to give away my hard-earned VC (doesn't matter if grinded for or bought) and get nothing in return?
I just hope this is understood by 2K and people that are on the fence about buying the game. I've seen a lot of negative responses about the game being bad or the game being the worst 2k ever. If you are a big my player or my team person then this might not be the best experience for you. However, if you don't touch modes centered around VC this could possibly the best basketball game you ever played.

The negative reception for this game can be misleading if you don't actually read into the complaints. A lot of the issues people have with the game haven't effected my enjoyment because I don't play modes which most complaints are stemming from.

Nobody... I honestly hope they hear all the feedback loud and clear this year about their poor game design choices...

My league is the fully customizable franchise mode where you can control every detail of all 30 teams if your heart desires. My GM is what you guys are talking about having the story. So if you want a franchise without story just play my league. You can only control one team if you want to. It's cumtomizable in almost every way.

Even people who love the game have to admit their modes went untouched unless you play myTeam which has its own problems. So instead of investing resources into that, they spent a LOT of time setting up myCareer to be a billboard/unskippable paid ad farm complete with multiple paid actors and 5 min pointless scenes and revamping myPlayer so that items/upgrades cost more while you get paid less. I wish I could be insulated from these issues like y'all but they still do affect y'all. Less time fixing this game, more time they could be improving this one or developing the next.

And all that is before you get to 2K's practices regarding their consumers. Their greed is so transparent. Ronnie stating "Realism" as the reason for haircut prices being dropped was truly offensive to me, I could hear the suit telling Ronnie that's what 2K's stance on it is. Also transparent, as that was a direct response to the Kotaku article. So much bad PR, MSM is on to them, the community is up in arms, big to no-name. And what steps have they taken acknowledging this bad month they've had? New, recycled packs in myTeam! That's where it shows. They don't address their failings, just push out the next thing. And if they do fix something the community has been on them about..."We listen to our fans! Best fans in the world!".

One "we messed up, here's how we do better" letter would do so much for the perception of this company. MLB and MUT were way better off, but still issued mature statements when the community was largely upset. It's a business, but we are wanting, passionate customers that have and will come out of pocket for this product we want to love. To see a company take that and aggressively erode it makes me fearful for gaming in general. Am I crazy in thinking 2K crossed a line no other AAA game has regarding microtransactions+design?

LD2K being a Community Manager and yet he has nothing but political answers EVERY TIME is a fireable offense IMO. A meaningless title, as him and Ronnie basically do the same job. I at least have come to expect what Ronnie does, as he is Marketing. Almost everything he does is OK with that title. The community has spoken loudly this year. And we've heard nothing real from him. He posts here, but doesn't manage anything.

This is a game for kids. How they treat the consumer proves thats the market. It sucks to realize this, but we're here now. I remember someone mentioning how they don't market this as the #1 sim for basketball anymore. A child doesn't get input except on special occasions, accepts what is given to them and forgets the messed up things the adults did if there's a new toy in front of them. I've been forced to grow up, I won't buy 2K19 flat out.

There's much more than just the microtransactions that have made people critical of this game. Movement is better than it's ever been, but I wouldn't say "gameplay" as a whole is as flawless as many people are making out.

I love this game and when it comes to game play there are very few flaws and I have to disagree with you on these things.

1. I have seen zero frame rate drops.

2. I do have some issue with this

3. Don't have a issue with this in the game the user does lose the ball more then CPU when trying to dribble the ball and CPU gets to many steals but with sliders this can be greatly improved.

4. Don't see any thing even close to this

5. I don't see guys who should not be making 3s making 3s. Sometimes they do take to many but that is a roster issue and can be fixed.

Out side of lack of none shooting fouls/jump shooting fouls and CPU not subbing guys out for foul trouble the game plays just about perfect.

Tha.Pink.Pantha, i feel your frustration despite being insulated from the vc madness. I too fear for the future of gaming. In fact i'm convinced that gaming is headed down a very dark path with microtransactions. No you are not crazy to think that 2k has crossed a line. They absolutely have, and sadly another publisher will go even further soon enough. Hell it'll probably be take two interactive themselves with red dead redemption 2 if someone else hasn't already before then.

Honestly pretty dumb reason imo. Maybe it's just because I haven't even been close to touching VC.

1) Framerate drops ONE time during ANY online games I play.

2) I DON'T make changes during the pause menu. I make ALL my changes OTF or during the timeouts.

3) I have no clue what the hell you're talking about. I USE icon passes, and I AVOID trying to make full court passes for cheesy fastbreaks.

4) Some guards CAN rebound. If I play a game, and Darren Collison snatched down 10 rebounds in a game, then I MIGHT be concern. 1 or 2 rebounds in a videogame with 5 minute quarters (PNO) or 8 minute quarters (offline)...meh.

5) I have seen videos, but PERSONALLY I haven't played anyone in PNO where that was a problem. Unless they're shooting 50% with Shaq, I would want them to shoot as many as they want. Shaq shooting 3's works BETTER for me defensively, then trying to stop his big *** in the paint where he's gobbling up every rebound that's available and dunking with no remorse.

I really hate when people try to "force" other people to see flaws. If I don't see it, then I freaking don't see it OR it doesn't bother me enough to be a big deal. I'm know that I'm ENJOYING the game more than NBA 2K11 despite the microtransactions. I play it everyday, and I look FORWARD to playing it when I get off work.

Stop hating on my happiness, and get you some.
The fact that you choose to blissfully ignore those issues that are, factually, in the game doesn't make the fact that they exist untrue.

You said the game's issues "don't affect the game modes you play"; I simply pointed out a few global issues that happen in every game mode off the top of my head.

If you're having fun then that's great, I have fun quite a bit in NBA2K18 too; that doesn't mean I am going to just ignore all of the obvious flaws. That's like getting a disease and pretending it doesn't exist, which just leads to the disease getting worse over time...
