I can't get open, because the defender is glued to me!
Why can't I hit CONTESTED shots! NBA players do it all the time!
I should be able to blow by my defender, because in the NBA NO ONES can stop Westbrook one on one!

NBA 2K just needs to make these fools play BETTER offense in the some way we're always told to "Git gud" on defense. It's like damn...how much more of an advantage does the offense need??? They can make moves on a dime. Shoot ridiculous percentages due to the shot meter and ungodly amount of badges. The number one way to generate offense in PNO is to call a screen on every possession, because the defender gets suck into screener like they're a freaking black hole. Your AI teammates makes stupid rotations while on defense, OR they foul the ball handler with 3 seconds left on the shot clock despite you having it under control the entire time. The 50/50 balls tend to go back offense. Offensive animations tends to "push" the defenders backwards, so good luck trying to get a charge. Offensive rebounding still tends to be lopsided despite whatever adjustments you make to stop it and that's presuming the d*mn ball does bounces out over FOUR of your players in the paint towards the offensive guard that's cutting towards the basket.

At the end of day, NBA 2K just needs to make defense great and responsive again (NBA 2K11) or stop handicapping the defense while boosting the offense.
This. I also hate that they took away other defensive options we had in past 2k's like shading and quick steps. I feel like those would work so well in current 2k right now.

Loved the feature where you could "click" whether you wanted to shade to the right, left, tight, loose, and moderate. I think that was in NBA 2K9 or 2K8. In a way, that indirectly addressed the sliding, because it still utilized the defensive assistance. However, you could control how strong you wanted the defensive assistance to be. Hell, I wish they would bring back the feature where you could flick the stick to cut off a driving lane. If you guessed right, you would force the ball handler to pick up the ball or fumble the ball for a possible on-the-ball steal.

I’ll say it again, 2k has to make defense as responsive as offense.
They also need to take out ankle breakers just because someone is spamming dribble moves on a stationary defender, suck in screens, and dribbling with no regard for the defensive player.
Something I’ve actually seen in this game is someone playing perfect defense around a screen while the pg spams dribble moves right into his chest then he gets sucked into the screen backwards, recovers, and gets his ankles broken while standing still.
Those things and the excessive body bumping have to go.
At least the rumor is that their focus was on getting back to basketball. Whatever that means to them.
They also said 2k19s focus was skills gap and look how that turned out. Smh.

That's my experience too but I haven't played that much online if at all. I find on ball defense way too strong. Arob wich sliders should I lower for both CPU and USER to make it more realistic?

I still see you from times to times blowing out users with your Hawks.

I played myleague and Play Friends HOF. The defense to me was OP. I only used the Hawks and I had a top flight defense all year. The defensive ratings of my players are low, and I am an average defender at best. The fact that I could lock down with the Hawks was slightly disappointing. Kevin Huerter, Trae Young and Taurean Prince shouldn't ever be a part of a top defense in any world.

Players also still slide into position when receiving passes without moving their feet. I've been harping on this for years! It's my biggest pet peeve with the game. I really hope they address foot planting across the board!

I uploaded a very good slider set. Under my psn. Changed movement to 99/1. Changed acceleration to 30 or 35. Lowered onball. Lowered jumpshot defense strength to 44 on release and takeoff.
