Quick question fellas....I read the 2KInsider increased and decreased a few players but was anyone added or "created" who has been missing thus far?

I'm trying to figure out, why does it take so long for the roster updates to get into Online Association! It's been like 3 or 4 updates since the one that was implemented into Online ***. I just wanna kno whyyyy?!?!?

Before this update Gerald Green had a post fade of 80? WHAT?!

Who do they think he is? Prime Vince Carter or something?

Honestly, at least half of the ratings changes they do is to correct inaccurate ratings they've made in the past.

But look at popular things on wishlists for 2k14...More shoes, better graphics, more uniforms, dunk contest...
Let's say 2k leaves everythig unchanged in 2k14, except improving gameplay with much better AI, tendencies based on synergy data, playbooks that work and so on.

Just think about it, this could be the best basketball sim ever, but still the forums would break down with "omgz why did 2k not give us more shoes fo mycareer and the menus look all the same..." and stuff like that.

The main problem for me with 2ks rosters is not even that I disagree with a lot of things, but the lack of any reason and logic behind their decisions. I just don't see what's the plan behind the default rosters and playbooks out of the box. Now if they'd know what they're doing we couldn't complain, but there is simply no sense to any of it. A game where Amare is a better defender than Nick Collison...
I agree with your post except for the bold part. Things like uniforms, shoes, graphics, are things you need to attract "casual" players. This is my first 2k game ever picked up, so by definition, I'm a casual player. Those things are what attracted me to buying the game and the depth of the gameplay is keeping me here. Don't want to derail the convo cuz we talkin about roster updates, but presentation is half the battle. 2k is great in the sense that it brings both hardcore fans and people like me who like basketball, but doesn't know every team's playbook.

I understand the whole "Overalls don't matter." I'm firmly with you guys on that. But when it comes to playing Association or My Career with 2k's rosters, some of those lower guys who are starters end up riding the bench because 2k is too ignorant to give them a boost and give some guys a downgrade. In example, when I start a My Career, Gordon Hayward is riding the bench, and Alec Burks/Raja Bell is starting. That's just wrong. Besides, Hayward needs a boost mainly just because of his play recently. I'm just sick of 2k ignoring every team other than the Lakers, Clippers, Heat, Knicks, and Nets. It's pathetic.

Re: NBA 2K13 Video - Roster Update Details (1-17-13) LeBron James 99 Overall Rating

to those complaining about LeBron being 99.

take a closer look.

The only thing 2K did was upgrade his rebounding skills, which was clearly undervalued to begin with ..

as quoted from zniv
Steal: 78 (-2)
Off Reb: 60 (+5)
Def Reb: 77 (+9)

LeBron deserves these upgrades
He is averaging 8.1 rebounds this year (6.9 DEF, 1.3 OFF) and averaged a monstrous 9.7 rebounds during last years' playoffs (7.4 DEF, 2.4 OFF), heck he is probably the best rebounder on the team, ahead of Haslem and definitely ahead of Bosh. Before the update, LeBron had a defensive rebound rating of 68. A guy that averages 6.9 defensive rebounds and only a 68 rating????? Even guys like Melo and Evan Turner had better rebounding attributes than LeBron and it wasn't even close ..

One note that I could add is 2K could have lowered LeBron's free throw shooting a little. But even if they did, he would still be rated 99...

LeBron has been underrated in the game since last year, which is hard to believe since he surely doesn't play underrated in the game. If you compare him to the other superstars ratings-wise and stat-wise, some ratings come off as baffling...like Durant having a higher ball handling rating (87) than him (85). Surely even the biggest KD fan can't agree with this.

I also forgot to mention in my previous post that if KD is equipped with the KD Vs that give a +5 3PT boost, his overall jumps to 96.

Just in case anybody cares, Devin Ebanks was nerfed as well. From a 65 to a 64. Alright. That is all. Bye Bye.
