When I first started playing the game, I remember playing online in quick match and just getting drilled, It was my feeling that in order to get crushed like I did, they had to be cheating.

I mean no one could shoot 80 percent.

I felt that way until I learned how to play better and then after awhile I could dish it out against guys who just didn't know how to play.

Really the same argument could be made here. Bottom line is that once play improves, the realism is there. In fact, the more real you play, the better you do.

Convincing people that's true is probably more impossible than winning on that level.
Eh, i think by and large the game does give the CPU boost and unfair advantages. So that in itself isn't realistic, no matter how realistic you play, the unrealistic cheating the CPU does makes it more unrealistic in general. I mean even one of the guys that agrees with this thread has acknowledged that the CPU does cheat.

I'd rather have a fair(or at least more fair) and realistic game.

I strongly disagree with saying the more real you play the better you do. Because the CPU does better on HoF than any other mode due to unrealistic attribute boost(and i know somebody on here proved that they get boost in their attributes somewhere)

Well it's a video game so talking about what's "fair" is a totally empty concept. Is it unfair for the CPU to make 90 percent of its open shots but 83 percent would be fair? 71 percent? 64.52?

If the programmers' purpose was to make the game "unfair" they could easily make HoF mode completely unbeatable. But it is beatable, so that clearly isn't the goal.

If the way you enjoy yourself is by playing games that produce certain stats or that look a certain way, you can adjust the sliders or the rosters or whatever you like. You're adjusting the game to fit your current skill level to produce the result that makes you happy, and there's nothing wrong with that.

But the purpose of HoF mode and this project is to learn the game, learn how it works, and learn how to get better at it, and beat it, in its original form. If that's not interesting to you, then that's cool. But it's interesting to me and maybe other people too, and this is the thread for us to talk about it.

Re: Coach2K's Hall of Fame Challenge

Last game today, went to overtime, got a little lucky I was down 12 with 5 minutes left and got some clutch steals and hit some clutch threes. Bucks are a good defensive team but the CPU abused my defenders. I play Sanders, Udoh, Dalembert, and Henson and yet I could only muster 2 blocks in 53 minutes of play? What a joke. If my eraser guys don't get blocks my guards don't get an energy boost and then I have to go to my bench which blows. That almost cost me the game.

OK. Here's the promised game play. This was the beginning of my game against the Magic.

It's tough, I've played the CPU a ton on HOF but on default, simulation is much tougher. Once I hit the better teams we'll see how the Bucks hold up.
