I understand that people are upset, but I thought people wanted a change with Association Mode?

We don't know if they made any of the changes most Association players wanted yet.

I only watched the video and didn't dive into the comments yet, but I can't wait to play this mode. The only thing I am not liking is it seems like you will not be able to edit players. I would be so upset if you can't.

I know you can only play as 1 user which sucks because sometimes I would play association with 2 of my cousins where we would create our player and put them on a bad team to try and build them into a powerhouse and player locked on our players when we would face each other. We also bet like dollars for whoever won the championship.

I think if that was still in it would've been awesome with having to deal w/ personalities and etc now. Would make us feel even more like GMs. Well, I am just hoping you can edit players like CG. A lot of people do different things in Association modes so leave most of the stuff we had. A lot of us like to edit players to our liking. Just think it's a bad idea to take away control from the user.

Care to elaborate? Sort of a vague statement.
I sort feel the same way. Here's how I look at it. I am not an NBA player. I have never played collegiate basketball. I am still athletic enough to ball on the courts with my buddies. I will never ever ball on the same team with Lebron, Kobe, Durant, Curry, Kent Bazemore, and even NBA bench warmers. Creating a fictional me and pretend to go up against the leagues' elites, and I'm creating a fictional universe that will never happen.

Simulation, is simulating what could happen in real life. Me, in the NBA is never going to happen. In association mode, multiple season mode, franchise mode, controlling a real team like the Golden State Warriors is "real."

On that note however, I will most likely be playing the MyGM mode. I'll most likely create the real GSW's general manager and go from there.

I have one question for the guys that say this is a realistic game mode, what player do you know goes to the gm asking for more playing time isn't that a coaches job???

I understand that, but for most people who play these games they always had this dream or idea to put a created character up against the best play out a scenario in there heads so it goes both ways. Me personally, I'm either way. I like that they have a career mode and I can make the next great one, and at the same time I want the sim and I'm the biggest "everything has to be right" person there is which is why to this point I've preferred Association. But, I wished 2k had SCEA basketball game's story elements with the gameplay it had an it seems I'm getting that.
The immersion will wear off if I see a bazillion idiotic trades an jersey numbers changing for no reason, but now I have a GM mode that incorporates some ideas that I've wanted for awhile to take the "old and bland" off association. I still need more info, but it seems like it's headed in the right direction to give all the modes a more well rounded feel to them instead of just screen, screen, screen, pop up, play basketball again.

Two things:

1. GM's hire the coaches so they do have some pull when it comes to that sort of thing
2. The mode only makes sense as MyGM not MyCoach. Do coaches make all the trades, and do contract negotiations? Nope, it's a GM that does that and if I remember correctly most of what happens in association is modeled after being a GM so....
