Hi,
Yea running is tough but I can usually get 100+ total rushing yards
against teams slightly better than mine. The running game with these sliders
works a bit different than most sliders I've tried. You not going to get
3 or 4 yards every time you run the ball. Sometimes you will get stuffed for
a loss or maybe gain 1 or 2 yards. But if you stick with the running game it
gets a bit easier in the 2nd half as the cpu d wears down.
With RB ABL set at 35 you have the ability to break a big one at any point in the game.
You can be successful on the ground but don't expect very many 200+ total rushing yard days. Like you I can run well on other sliders. I didn't want to
be able to always run well so I created these.
I watch a lot of college football and I usually don't see teams being able to run nearly as well as most of us
can in the game. When even teams play in real life they pound the ground
game until they either break a big one or wear down the D or both. You can
do that with these sliders but your not going to come out and run well in the
first quarter unless your playing a inferior opponent.
I watch mostly SEC football and see this every weekend. Teams will keep
pounding the run even if they are not having much success knowing eventually something will break.
With these sliders if you want to run like last years Auburn Tigers your going
to need a A to A+ offensive line. Look for boys with big squat numbers and
high run blocking. Developing a incredible running team is possible with these
sliders but its not a gimme. An average O line isn't going to provide you with
big rushing numbers every game. I've had games where I only got 50ish total
rushing yards and I've seen real college games where this occurs. On most sliders
or on default I never get held to this few yards. I've also had 200+ rushing
yard games. I'll usually look for the weakest side of the D line and run to that side a lot.
I also use play action. Play action works great with these. Pound that run and then
hit them on 1st or 2nd down with a play action. If you have some success
they will back off the run for a few downs.
Its strange but using these sliders it sometimes seems a team just comes out
planing on making you beat them thru the air. I like this as I've seen it in real
life a lot. A inferior team comes out and stuffs the running game of a superior
opponent forcing the superior team to beat them thru the air. In real life a
inferior team can many times stop the rusing game of a superior team by
over commiting to the run. If they happen to then get pressure when the
superior team passes and/or the superior teams passing game is off or makes mistakes, a upset
is in the making. Arg...Just rambling now....
Thanks for trying the sliders and I hope they work out for you.
